I suppose Titans are going to be build-able now? No confirmation, but unlike when they accidentally built a contingency core, they didn't immediately say something like "That's hot code for you" and never answered questions about the red-HP bar (for armor), or Titans.

Titans with a developed ship designer slot, seems likely that they are going to be added.

Yes, whether intended or not, this is clearly a leak/teaser proving that Titan-class ships are going to be buildable in 2.0 (or, are buildable in the current dev version of 2.0, could still turn out they will be removed before the release because balance shenanigans).

I would love to see 'Hero-unit' style unique Titans as result of long years of construction and event chains, to become the glorious flagship(s) of your fleet, but it probably will just be a 32-size spammable better battleship :/

So, I noticed the shield icons, and the powerplant icons for the "Titan shields" and "Titan reactor" from the mod in the latest update...

I didn't say anything because maybe these are just some other game techs I've just never encountered before? Like I've never used the psi drive before, so maybe it's just like that or something, but...

Am I mistaken? Does anyone recognize those powerplants and shields?

Anyone... aside from other players like me, who've played with the Zenith of Fallen Empires mod, and recognize those as Titan Reactors and Titan Shields?

Stuff that only (until now) exists in the mod where you can ascend to building Fallen Empire ship types - Escorts, Battlecruisers, and Titans?

I'm more interested in reactor becoming a core component, rather than remaining an utility. This is going to change the ship loadouts as we will have to use static amount of power for all of the weapons and shields and stuff...

Also, no aux slot for science ship?

Ah, yes... they're even rarer considering that every time I or a friend have bested the Enigmatic Fortresses' outer defenses, it's vanished to the center of the galaxy so we can't continue the event chain and break inside...

Looking at those individual fleet caps I get the feeling ships and combat are being redesigned from the very bottom.

Realistically, it's possible (in theory anyways) that the Titan could just be hotcode, that is like the Contingency Core upgrade, which occurred when Wiz was spam clicking the upgrade to starbase option over and over, that is it was added into the ship designer not for players, but so that the balancing team could more easily edit it, or that it had been in the game all along but simply wasn't available to players without them using cheats/mods to unlock access. It IS hotcode after all. Or that it's simply an ease-of-access thing for scripts. (upgrade starbase to state 7, which is not available to players, and is the only state available to X fallen Empire, crisis, etc. ; rather than them having to create an entirely new object from the ground up to work).

As for whether or not it will be a spam-able size 32 battleship, that seems unlikely. Remember, Fallen Empires usually have what, 1-2 of these? I've personally never seen more than a few of them at a time in the entire Galaxy.

They'll likely be an extremely rare technology for the base game, perhaps added as an Ascension Perk (or reward from one of the Civics trees), or may still be a super-rare technology for everyone who owns all the DLC.

They said there are now 5 tiers of technology, gameplay is a bit slower now than it was before (with more strategic elements involved), so if we're going to be seeing Titans, I'd expect them to either be locked as 'only after the third ascension perk has been selected', or as T5 rare technology.

But, they've rather poignantly avoided the question, on Stream especially, so it's more likely that it IS going to be added. Otherwise, just like when they came across the random Contingency Core hotcode glitch, they'd have denoted it as not being included, and a result of a buggy gamestate.

Reactors and Shields are the icons currently used for Enigmatic tech, doesn't mean that's what they are.

No, they highlighted over them, they are Enigmatic.

The only reason they were there at all was b/c Wiz did a cheat command to unlock all tech and max out all resources.

Game auto-chooses the best upgrades, as those are the best shield choices, they were the ones chosen.
