Titans are very Awkward. You end up wanting 1 of each type.

So I take the same Titan design, and I copy/paste it 6 times, and add (Aura name) after each one.

Then I pick an order to build them in.

To update, I have to go through all 6 types and tweak.

The thing is, they are really the same design. Just with one component swapped out.

It would be nice to have a better way to handle this that is cleaner.

...

One thought is to split "normal" ships from "hero" ships.

Hero ships have a base design, and can be modified away from it. For Titans, the base design is a "normal" ship design. It does not include the aura.

The Titan individual ships differ only in the aura.

Then, we can extend this to event ships. They can have a (non-editable) base design, and certain slots that can be edited on them.

This would let Stellaris to make event ships with some static components, and some that players can replace (if they choose to); that cruiser you pick up in an early event you can upgrade the power and drive system, for example.

Each cell in the Edit Hero ship would show one of 3 states:
1) Locked component (cannot be edited)
2) Unlocked (can be Customized) - shows the default component here
3) Customized component (has been edited)

Customzied hero ships have a name, and shows up at the end of the ship type name.
