Has anyone been able to research the titan lifeforms on a planet or recruit titanic beasts in the latest version?

In my current game I control like 3 titanic lifeform planets, and even after 30ish years I have no been given a single project, event, option, or anything to research the titanic lifeforms (to the point where I decided to disassemble my army buildings on those planets which I had built, planning to recruit the almighty psionic godzilla cavalry I so cherished in 1.1).

I thought this was a bug at first, then I went in to look at the game's files and the Titan Beast research event had a disabled Mean-Time-To-Happen (MTTH) with a comment that it would be triggered only. But... triggered by what?

So I'm curious if anyone else has been able to train titanic life in the recent patches?

Interestingly, i also did not have the event that enables titan research since the latest version, even after controlling the planets for centuries. Not a single time.

I had it work for me, but oddly it only let me build 3 units, said thats all the planet could produce and it never gave me the option to build more, ever.

That is partly a bug I believe, in the game files it is specified that you can only build 3 which is fine cause the tooltip says you can only have a few of those armies, but the bug (at least I believe it is not wanted behaviour) is that even if one of those armies dies you cannot build another one, cause the game just counts how much of those armies you build and after 3 it does not allow more. For a correct behaviour it should count how much armies you have at the moment, not how much you have build in the whole game.

For anyone interested the part that does this is in the file Stellaris/common/armies/00_armies.txt
Code:
    allow = {
        custom_tooltip = {
            text = titanic_troop_limit_tooltip
            planet = { has_planet_flag = titanic_life_can_build }
            owner = {
                has_country_flag = titanic_life_soldiers
                NOT = {
                     check_variable = {
                        which = "titanic_life_soldier_count"
                        value = 3
                    }
                }
            }
        }
    }

    on_queued = {
        owner = {
            change_variable = {
                which = "titanic_life_soldier_count"
                value = 1
            }
        }
    }

    on_unqueued = {
        owner = {
            change_variable = {
                which = "titanic_life_soldier_count"
                value = -1
            }
        }
    }
}
In short: the game counts a variable and allows this variable to be max=3 if you queue and titanic army it adds one if you unqueue a titanic army it subtracts one but if an titanic army gets killed it does nothing and so the variable stays at 3 forbidding you to build more titanic armies. Not sure if adding a on_killed line or something like that would do anything.

I actually got to do that like and hour ago. Saw the popup, sent my invasion armies there just in case, but wound up being able to train up 3 units of titanic life military. I really wanted to give them Xeno Cavalry just so I could point at them and say "Look! Tyranid Biotitans!"

Not really sure what's the event trigger now then, since it's no longer be 'X months after you settle' based on the events script files.

Xenophile also have a +20% chance of success in the project to get titanic life (only 10% chance of failure) while everyone else has a 30% chance of failure

The fun fact. I had two of these planets, had two events and both were successful. But i still got only three titans. It needs to be fixed.

Also, my ethos was fanatic materialist and individualist.

I just did last night! I didn't even know that was an outcome- the one time I tried before I lost the planet to the resulting invasion, so I prepped by building a ton of garrisons... and then got sweet Titanic armies instead!
