I just started an OE GC. The rules I play by are; 1) My tech research has to be reasonably balanced, no tech rushing anything 2) If I do end up colonizing, it'll only be in Africa 3) No cheats, except for oranje, because constantly changing my stability slider is tedious, and this game throws a stab hit at you every other second (some instances of which I simply don't agree should have that effect to begin with). It's 1422, I have a rather bad reputation. Immediately, Candar had DoWed Trebizond, so I DoWed Candar. I only had to fight the troops they built later in their province. Also, I noticed Athens and its local alliance DoWing Byzantium. I don't like strange borders, so having Morea would have annoyed me, but now I could DoW Byzantium and annex them straight out, hopefully. The war with Byzantium ends first as Athens takes Morea and I take Thrace. I get +2 centralization (in addition to the +1 from policy change) from the events. I also DoWed Trebizond when I got another diplomat. Candar doesn't try to break the siege on their city, so I just wait for me to take, which happens after a little while. I annex Candar, and voila, a free sieging army in Trebizond. After that is finished I annex Trebizond. Ak Koyonlu invites me into an alliance, and I humbly except, following with a royal marriage proposal. My intent is to diploannex the arabs, which is more in my style. I was thinking about getting Karaman, Ak Koyonlu, Qara Koyonlu, and with luck Mameluks this way. I now have infra tech 1, so I take out a few loans to maintain my army and get tax collectors. I figure if I get tax collectors in all of my provinces, I might be able to maintain my army, and eventually get a positive income so I can pay off my loans. It'll be rough for a while. Now, are there any tips you can give me on achieving my plan, or a better plan even?
