Current Strategic Situation
UK has fallen. I have taken the following as my puppets: British Raj, British Malaya, Dutch East Indies. Romania is my puppet, while Hungary and Bulgaria are not my allies. Japan will declare war on me because they are after my puppets. USSR will probably take a year or more, depending on my border strength.

Army Group of Poland has 72 Divisions. Their job previously was to guard the borders, while I am attacking London. They are on the midst to upgrading from 1936 infantry to 1939 infantry.

I am thinking of abandoning my Asian puppets to the Japs. After all the US will soon join the allies and help in the fighting.

As for USSR, i am thinking of waiting for a year or more to invade since my land forces are probably inadequate.

If it is a must to invade before 1941 June, then I have to replay my previous campaign like speeding up Sealion.

After the fall of Poland, consider to take the Baltics; and when doing "Weserübung" ( conquer Denmark and Norway ) it might be a good idea to conquer Sweden and Finland as well; for the reason of a "second" front in the North.

So i have to do a chain invasion? Declare war on Baltic states while i am still invading Poland? That will take some PP.

Edit:
My invasion events are

1. Poland
2. Denmark and Norway
3. France and low countries
4. UK

Not sure whether I have time for other countries. Unlike Barbarossa has to be delayed. I believe I am quite on time historically because UK did not fall back then.

It was only a suggestion, that helps me to conquer SOV easier. As in real life, if you want to get an advantage, you often have to pay for it - you have weigh up.
You can easily draw a "troop-line" from Karelia eastward to the sea and encircle the whole SOV-northern army. After their defeat you can push east- and southward towards Moscow.

I was hoping for a more historical enactment :p

Tips for invading the Soviet Union:

  1. Tanks, Tanks, Tanks. With a higher Armor then their piercing (50 should be fine, maybe 60), good breakthrough (>600), good hardness, enough org (>30) and high soft attack. (Examples here and here )
  2. Encirclements, Encirclements, Encirclements. A first one can be to encircle the mountains in the carpathians near Lwiw. Cut from Lwiw south to Romania. Another one could be from Memel to Riga.
  3. Avoid attacking in bad terrain. Especially with your Tanks in he swamps in the middle of the front. The swamps can also be a really big encirclement.
  4. Air superiority. CAS are nice to break difficult river crossings, but tanks and green air is enough.
  5. Don't attack with Infantry too much and look at your infantry equipment and manpower. (Don't forget garrison requirements) If one runs out, you could lose.

I can't wrap my head around how small your army is at the start of 1941 ....

Mine is more than twice as large at that point.

Be advised that the USSR AI has, at it's disposal, lots of fighters and bombers. And it will use those bombers to great effect on your forces. As others have said, panzer divisions is what you need, preferrably on favourable terrain like Plains. Smash through the front at one or two points, and use the speed of the panzers to quickly grab terrain behind the lines and close a pocket. Then mop up that pocket. Rinse and repeat.

Watch for USSR counter attacks. The AI prefers to do that in the russian winter, as the USSR has a field marshal (zhukov) that excels under these conditions. If the USSR also has control of the skies, you will get pushed back.

I did not plan for Operation Barbarossa (or at least, attack USSR before June 1941) at the very start, for this current campaign. I was thinking of using a smaller force to beat a larger nation through "superior micromanagement". So, I went ahistorical (after defeating France) and conquered UK first, then allied with the Soviets. Now, I am conquering USA and will soon turn on Soviets.

But now, I wanted to try a more historical approach by reloading my past save file (the part after I conquered UK). So I kinda regret not fielding a larger force :D.

In any case, I just checked on the Wikipedia, and it said that Germany had only 153 divisions for the operation, 19 panzer divisions. Not very big, in my book.
