I started playing EU4 a year ago and I can’t say I’m a pro but I’m neither a noob. The first Ironman game I played was with Milan so I had a difficult time forming Italy, and when I finally conquered the required provinces I faced the mega French-ottoman alliance. Now I’m playing with France and I’d like to know some tricks to grow bigger in Europe.
The summary of my current situation: (1550)
- All French culture group provinces owned but Liege, Avignon, and the HRE provine of Provence.
- Conquered East Anglia, Northumbria, Cumbria, Scotland, Ireland, Gaeldom as a vassal,
- PU over Castile, currently integrating them. I fed them with the coastal portuguese provinces and their colonies.
- I own Holland, all Catalonia, Savoie.
- Alliances: Bohemia and Ottomans, Bohemia (unfortunately) is the emperor after I gave him some austrian lands during wars.
I don’t want to attack Bohemia since they are a powerful ally. I’m planning to eat the last remnant of Provence during the league wars, hoping that Bohemia is to busy to honour the call of Arms...
