No, maxis made a turd. Sure it had plus sides and minus sides but the minuses far outweigh the pluses and people expect more from a company that has been producing the same series for over 2 decades. A game being made by 13 people who have no experience in city builders as far as we know (although do have a game/games in a similar genre under their belt) on likely a much tighter budget, whatever the faults it has, will probably be much better than the offering from the veteran studio that created and defined the genre repeatedly. That is abysmal.
The good thing is that now with Skyline Maxis will realize that she dont have the monopoly anymore. Or they get better or they get out. =P And i really think the next SC (if we dont have to wait 10 damn years) it will be really great.
Unfortunately, for that to happen they have to escape the clutches of EA greed.
Yeah i think that Maxis would do way better under CO's leadership.
They could try to acquire it as soon as EA goes bankrupt xD
You guys know large development teams have there own pitfalls right? Too many people putting in there ideas can cause a lost of identity and too many directions taken.
Just looking at EA's website with the pics and profiles of the executives makes my skin crawl. So corporate and cold. Then we've got colossal order and paradox laid back and chilled having fun yet delivering great products. I know who I'd rather give my money.
Fun?
FUN?!
We don't condone fun here. Only pain and suffering.
