A year last 30 seconds for you guys? dammmnnnn. It's taking me 3 minutes with all graphics option on, 2 minutes and some with all of it off.

Running Nvidia Geforce GT 525M (3 gig) on an Intel quadcore i3 2.20GHz with 4gig ram...

If a year whizzes past in thirty seconds for me, AE won't even matter.

Due to me being kind of obsessed with benchmarks and such I have been returning to this thread frequently and saw that no i5 (desktop) CPUs have been benchmarked. So I decided to turn off hyperthreading on my i7 3770k which basically makes it a i5 3570k with 2MB more of cache. I ran some benchmarks with the same settings as before.

1444.11.11 -> 1449.11.11 2:01min
1444 -> 1445 24s
1445 -> 1446 23s
1446 -> 1447 24s
1447 -> 1448 25s
1448 -> 1449 25s

Average: 24.2s

Which basiaclly confirms the community consensus that this game is not very hyperthreaded as I get basically the same speeds as with HT on. Just some useful information for understanding what components influence the speed of the game.

Relevant specs:
i5 3570k @ 4.5GHz (For this benchmark, actually an i7 3770k with HT off.)
8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600Ghz
GTX 660TI 2GB @ 986Ghz

this thread can be summed up with "EU4 is fine with one core" The game only used one core and only 30% of my entire processor.
i5 4670k at stock speed but core enhancement on (instead of turbo boost sometimes its full power all the time so 3.8ghz all cores-otherwise it would stay atlike 3.8 for one core under load)
8gb
680gtx
240GB 840 evo ssd

I do no know why am so obsessed with this topic. However I decided to reduce clockspeeds and see the performance results then. I am comparing all of these result to my http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...8-Time-to-run-through-1-year-at-full-speed/#4previous benchmark.

i7 3770k @3.6Ghz (stock)

1444.11.11 -> 1449.11.11 2:28
1444 -> 1445 28s
1445 -> 1446 29s
1446 -> 1447 30s
1447 -> 1448 31s
1448 -> 1449 30s

Average: 29.6s

20% slower Clockspeed -> 20% Slower Gamespeed.

i7 3770k @2.7Ghz (Underclocked)

1444.11.11 -> 1449.11.11 2:56min
1444 -> 1445 34s
1445 -> 1446 35s
1446 -> 1447 36s
1447 -> 1448 35s
1448 -> 1449 36s

Average: 35.2s

40% slower Clockspeed -> ~33% Slower Gamespeed.

As tekjunkie28 noted this game is heavily single core focused and these numbers back it up. I reduced per core performance directly by lowering clock speed I got immediate performace loss as expected. This raises the question if a ivy bridge i3 clocked at the same speeds as my i7 gets to do the benchmark, would we close to the same performance or are there any other variables?

You didn't actually show any numbers :).
