Time Scale to short in Game! ?

I think that 1936 is ok for terms of starting but for the war or the game to end at 1947 area is stupied.

Reason being is that, the war could have gone on another 20-30 years or longer, I think a Conquest kind of scenario or some thing like that int eh game should excist, in the main objective being the largest or most powerful country in the world, you can chose the conquest settings, like i.e. Conqest option (1) Total World Domination
(2) Achive a Certain ammount of Victory points
(3) Objective: you have to retain or obtain, you countrys land or given land that should be thiers back!

dont know any others but, I think that this kind ofg thing would be good, the time peroid given in the game or time scale I should say is really to short to do all, this idea will give the players the chance to do it all.

So what do you guys think?

Reason being for my idea is that for any one mroe most peole you cant do all that you want in the game, I can only do so much, in one Scenario in the 1936-1947 I managed to get 90% of all tech, nuclear is fully done, so are Rockets etc etc, only things not completly done are Navy really, and some air tech, but rest is done, I have over 200 Devisions, mixed of cource of Tanks and troops and APC's etc, air unites and navy arnt encluded, I have over 100 Aitr devisions, verius aricrafts, and over 80 Devisions of Navy, so then building all this takes time and most of the bulk of all the Devinsions built didnt come until aftre 1947 area, only had half to my desposal, any way I conqured the whole of france, even on the other continents, I got france and then I annxed it all, then I got the whole of the United Kingdom under my belt as a puppet regime as I could figour out were the UK had any territory left so I could annex them, but no luck to had to go for puppet, and that was by 1946 December 23rd so then all io had left was the rest of russia and the toher countrys in the world, but no what do I find the time runs out.

So ive come up with this idea, hope some peopel like it, and I know thier are poelpe that wont but I dont care for them that dont.

I think with france and UK under your rule and russia with bitter peace..U've won :D

Germany who has the eastern part of russia and most of europe is invincible in a singleplayergame. In a MP..well... if russia falls in MP something is wrong :D

I for my part quit mostly if russia is down...( 1940 or 41 mostly)
Russia is my most feared enemy as germany. If hes beeten I've won. IF germany would have a bitter peace with russia U think the americans would have landed so easiely in italy? nah no way:D

If U want the world find out to do it faster:) I had my research all done but some naval by 1944, anexed UK russia and USA by the end of 1945 (UK needs: Honkong, 1 south of hongkong Kunchu?, that one land beside Yemen, sanghai, all of england/scotland North-ireland, gibraltar+Malta, northern afrika (Agypt) I think thats it :D )
edit: oh...India!!..3 to 4 citiy in india too

Well I belive originally Hitler wanted to wait for war until 1945 because the navy would be finished and they would be far ahead of the allies but Hitler didn't think the allies would defend Poland.

It has been stated before:-

Paradox wanted the game to start in 36 and end in 47.
This will not be changed.

Whether there will be another game later we do not know but this is "as is".

But why?

Okay, Paradox wanted it that way. What difference does is make though? This board is full of threads with people wanting longer game time and some with some workarounds (I understand there is way to start a year earlier) Still why shouldn't Paradox be willing to work with people wanting to extend the game time. Seems an easy way to raise customer satisfaction, something important given the number of gripes about bugs, AI and other issues.....

why ask why?

why do people keep asking this? its probably as long as it needs to be. if you are still fighting "20 or 30 years or longer" - i dont think you've won. is it because as germany you havent gotten around to conquering tierra del fuego by 1947?
if you MUST go onlonger dont click on OK at the end or whatever (ive heard) if im playing germany i quit after the bitter peace. wtf is the point of still going. by that point youve WON. the USA AI can mount all the amphibious invasions it wants by then and YOULL STILL WIN. without russia to tie up the bulk of the wehrmacht, germany wins.
i hope this reponse isnt too tear-stained, since you dont care for me, max. *sniffle*

Because

People keep asking this because it is a simple request. Some of us just want to conquer as much as possible and do it in a setpiece way. Consider Field Marshal Montgomery, he would wait until he had overwhelming superiority and grind the enemy under. With such a tactic, he chased the Germans halfway across N Africa, should we be afforded any less?
Or maybe we are all dictators at heart?
Or maybe we love the game so much we don't want it to end?

I dont really think i would go longer than 1947 but you people who say it should end at 1947 are really annoying. It wouldnt be hard to let the game go longer... if you dont want to you could end at 47. They just want a world conquest option. And the argument that paradox wanted it like this... THEY MAKE MONEY BY PLEASING US. THEY DEVELOP WHAT WE WANT... god they are just suggesting something to paradox. I dont really care for playing that long but stop being so damn arrogant and close minded.

It is kind of sad to finally launch that carrier only to see that the game is over before you sail to where it's needed.

Take that Germany!

Game over

Still it really isn't that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things. Once the last bugs are ironed out the games should end sooner anyway twelve years is an awfully long time.

I never had a game that lasted past -45... I am not even sure I had a game that reached 1945...

why is this as big issue for some people you can already play longer than in any WW2 game that has come out. The whole game is balanced for this timescale and changing it would only unbalance it further.

No one is being close minded or arogant. Do not call people names here - it will not be tolerated.

The game length has been suggested before and the answer is "no" for technical reasons.

see here for the Paradox answer:-

I have just had word that someone has written a patch that will enable the game to be played up to 2000.

Once he has uploaded it to his website I will post the link here.

I have no idea what form this takes we will have to wait and see.

2000!?! I hope he found a way to get more tech. Overkill but at least people are making an effort!

Exactly - that was one of the technical reasons why the timeline will not be extended by Paradox.

However - if people want to carry on with what they have then thats fine. I think this Mod might only work with the Spanish Version though. We will have to wait and see but it does show it can be done.

I must say I don't really understand how you can have a game last for that long to begin with.

Starting in 1939, as the UK, with the hardest settings, not using paras. I played the game as a do-gooder, and didn't declare war on anyone. I annexed germany in 1940, and had a lot of other countries DoW on me, but had a complete victory late 1940, or early 1941. In that game I noticed something about the AI I didn't like much, Germany declared war on belgium and holland in early 1940, with Germany consisting only of the Polish provinces.

As Germany, playing with the same settings, no paras, I've annexed france, belgium, netherlands, portugal (i.e all of africa and most of asia), and ofcourse all of europe, except italy. Turkey and the arabian peninsula as well. I've just landed forces in australia and the US just now declared war, the russian bear is still fast asleep. The year? February 1941.

But apart from my prowess in conquering territories, if you want to research all the tech before 1947, just take over a lot of territory to give you more ic and research away.
