Time for Bri'ish empire

Like occiden'al but for a galaxy full of an'ima'er, and nowt to do with teeth.

Once I get my third civic through tech I'll grab Free Traders for an additional +10% to the stupid trade value I'm planning to generate.
Been hyped to do this exact build since the dev diaries dropped Ocean Paradise and Anglers.


Edit: some people seem a bit puzzled by my ethics choices. This is actually a build I conceived two or three weeks ago in the run-up to release, based on getting as much trade value as humanly possible; xenophilia gives trade value increase and egalitarianism gives specialist pop output. The Bri'ish theme was slapped on top at the last minute so I had a rough framework for naming things, the part I always struggle with the most. The link is as surface level as "both of them do a lot of trade and dominate the ocean", I wasn't trying to match up whatever political institutions and attitudes you think should be mirrored.

Didn't change the ship name prefix to HMS? Although I suppose with the corp authority you're more going for East/West India Company vibes, and they probably didn't use HMS for their private navy. And of course in the modern world it doesn't matter that H(is|er) Majesty is little more than a figurehead, the ships are still ostensibly hers (or his).

To be honest, I'm still a little puzzled how the British and the pirate name list are supposed to fit with the new aquatic portraits, as none of them is nearly human enough to fit the specifically English language of these. Maybe the Deep One portrait, but still a somewhat long stretch.

Gonna roll these all into one reply. The traits, civics and ethics were the priority for this build, the Bri'ish stuff is something I thought I'd slap on at the end to hold it all together. I've edited the end of the original post for a better explanation.

Not saying you're right or wrong about how it would match IRL, just that it wasn't a consideration

I think their design philosophy might have been something like "what's the most stereotypical oceanfaring group we can draw from?" and they came up with those, since humans are already a thing in the humanoid portraits section. I can surely agree that the Britain theme fits well a humanoid sea based civilization, even if I can't see the dolphins using human/humanoid names.
