It would probably make more sense if features and blockers had types; such as underwater (underwater vents/submerged ore veins/teeming reef/tropical island/crystal reef/toxic kelp) or subterranean (ore-rich caverns/fungal caves/dust caverns/crystalline caverns/deep sinkhole.)
That way blockers would block off more fitting features.

Of course, there could do with being more non-agricultural features as well in general.
