Sweden​

From His Swedish Majesty, to the nations of Europe.

It is some time now since we expected good sense from our brother monarch in Sardinia-Piedmont. Nonetheless his accusations should not stand unanswered. First, let us repeat : Sweden has not, does not, and will not threaten any nation. We desire only peace and brotherhood in Europe.

We do not understand the reference to the Russians. We are always aware of our mighty neighbour; yet they are a state without interests in the region under dispute, they are not allied to any party to the quarrel, and they have not expressed a wish to mediate. Why, then, should we take it upon ourselves to bring them into the discussion? We do not speak for the Czar; he is surely capable of voicing his own interests.

I am a very small nation

And yet one that is growing larger by the moment! "L'etat, c'est moi" in the mouth of Louis XIV was only the truth; but the ruler of Sardinia is no Sun King. Coming from the King of a nation that professes its desire to bring democracy to Italy, such words are an odd contradiction. Perhaps, in spite of their fine words, the Sardinians have forgotten nothing and learned nothing?

We fully support the Prussian intention to intervene in their legitimate sphere of interest, the Zollverein area of Germany. However, we must respectfully insist that our brother monarch in Denmark be left to rule over his Duchy of Holstein as he sees fit, in accordance with the Treaty of London.

Bah. His Majesty the King of Prussia does not recognize the treaty of London of 1839, nor does He recall any mention of Holstein. However, He is currently satisfied with the Holstein situation. As long as it remains the same.

From the government of Sardinia Piedmont to the courts of Europe. We recognize Prussia's need to secure their interests in their sphere of influence. The Germanic people cry out for a strong and unified government as much as the Itialin people.

We would like to inquire just what the king of Sardinia-Piedmont would have done, if he disapproved of Prussian intervention to keep order in Germany? We suggest that minor nations should stick to their own regions.

We strongly object to the recent, unpardonable interference of French troops in the local affairs of our protectorate of Tunis. The so-called 'rebels' shot by the French are in fact officers of our army, exercising their democratic rights of protest against the fate of their brothers in Algerie and Morocco. While some of their more enthusiastic demonstrations may be slightly beyond the pale, we can only approve of their routing of the French division sent to contain them - a development which clearly shows the decline of French arms since the time of Napoleon. If, from fixed defensive positions in the hills of Tunis, they cannot cope with an ill-armed and outnumbered host of our Tunisian subjects, how can they hope to deal with the armies of Europe?

We demand that the French henceforth keep their soldiers outside our borders; any further territorial violations will be met by Swedish soldiers, if necessary marching alongside the risen people of Tunis. The French may shoot their own to their hearts' content, and indeed are doing so; but we will thank them to let us deal with subjects of the Swedish crown in our own manner.

To the collective leaders of Europe

It pains me to see continued bllodshed and aggression. I beseech my fellow leaders to find instead peaceful solutions to their problems. The balance of Power in Europe must be maintained in its current form. The continued clashes in other regions between colonies will only draw the line of war across Europe. This will lead to many deaths that are not warranted. It is to this that the Russian Empire will direct its European policies. We will do everything in our power to maintain the peace in Europe. If War is inevitable then know that Russia shall direct her response to the aggressor.

Peace will be maintained or if their is to be War then know that it will bring Russia with it.

To those of the world

France would like to reinterate that it is willing to allow the Russians to persue the liberation of the Slavic peoples of Europe only so long as they recognize the difference between Slavic and Greek. As long as Russia honours the agreement that Greece shall be made whole, then the peoples of France will stand behind the Russian and Slavic peoples in their quest for freedom.

As for Sweden. As time draws on, tempers fade and though Sweden and France have bickered in the past, we are now proud to be allies against the ills of this world. If only some nations, who hide behind their wooden walls, would leave the truly good nations of this world alone, then we would the world be a great place.

In closing, France would also like to congratulate the King of Sardinia for his glorious defense against Papal excesses.

Empire of Russia


To the Countries of the World

Russia appreciates the plight of the Greeks and agrees that they also should have freedom from the Turks. However, the goal of the Russian army is to liberate the Slavic lands. IF in the process we are able to free some of the Greek lands then we see no reason not return those lands to the Greeks.

We also would like to congradulate the nations of France and Sweden in not only quelling their disagreements but also in joining in alliance. One can hope that the two nations can continue in peace even when tensions rise in Africa.

From The Government of Sardinia-Piedmont:

We want to officially recognize the eternal appreciation the people of Italy have for the government of France. We would also like to thank those countries that came to our aid during our plight with regard to the sudden and unprovoked attack by the Papal States. Not to forget, we wish to acknowledge the governments of Prussia and Russia for their continuous support with our growing country.

We also wish to place on notice the corrupt monarchy of the Papal States, who will surely pay for their crimes against our people. Their tyrannical rule will soon come to an end.

We do not wish to see the Papal States as a state any longer. The Pope no longer needs those lands. We fully support the outright annexation of the Papal States by Sardinia-Piedmont or the Two Sicilies, whenever that may be.

As for the Slavic question, we ask of Russia: what of the Slavic peoples of Austrian lands? Do you intend to take those as well? Do you intend to continue the course against the Turks?

It is unfortunate that the Papal States performed such an agressive act. However, with the treaty signed and new lands have been awarded to Sardinia what then is the purpose oif the total distruction of a nation? I can not support the utter distruction of the Papal States purely for vengeful reasons. If they were to continue their lawless aggression then I could see my way to accepting their annexation.

To Prussia

My Lord I am sure that the woeful misconduct that the heathen Turks force upon our fellow Christians must surely try your own soul. The Austrians have nothing to fear from Russia. They treat their Slavs well. Should that change then we may sit together and come to a peaceful solution.

As for the Turks....We shall see if they change their continued mistreatment.

To the Vast Empires of Europe, we in the netherlands do not understand Your pointless protection of the rebels in "begium", but it seems we have no say in this issue. We wish that france will someday forgive us for our "internal" issue with belguim and establish warmer relations but are pleased that the russians are interested in building better relations with us. and to the leader of Sardiana Piedmont we hope that you may unite your troubled people under one flag some day.

To The Great Czar of Russia, we notice your colonisation efforts in the indonesian area and hope that we can reach a fair agreement on the division of the area.

As you may already know we uncovered a serious scheme to destabilize the Italian Peninsula. Most of the plotters have been dealt with accordingly. Our scribes continue to pore over material from the late ruler of the Papal States, in an effort to uncover how severe the conspiracy was.

We lost a very close ally to this treachery and will not rest until those responsible have been brought to justice. Our government wishes to thank those nations that have supported us without question during this most troubling time.

As the newly elected President, I would like to send a greeting to all the nations. The previous Prussian policy of annexing non-allied German states is no longer. This is an elected government and the people of Prussia no longer wish to annex the other democratic nations of the Zollverein.

To the victors, the spoils : That is the unalterable law of warfare, as certain as gravity, as unavoidable as death. But the usages of diplomacy demand, as the canons of politeness suggest, a modicum of modesty and magnanimity. It is not fitting to mock the defeated, nor to publicly - and flippantly - celebrate one's gains. None will begrudge a dignified acknowledgement of Greece's good fortune; but we object to the sarcastic tone of their latest communique, and call on France and Russia to restrain their protege, lest the solemnity of diplomacy degenerate into mere farce and snook-cocking.

To the peoples of the world and especially to the victors of the great war.

One does not blame Greece for celebrating, nor would they be expected to blame the Italians. For here stand two peoples whom, historicaly oppressed by farflung empires, have finally gained their god given right to free rule. One can only congratulate these nations and wish that they too could understand the exuberance with which these governments now lead their days.

For Italia has freed its northern brothers from the clutches of Austria, and Greece has become a united nation, after so many years under the Muslim yoke. Again France soley wishes to congratulate these peoples for their good fortune, and wishes; nay, demands that those defeated nations not let their bitterness intrude on the celebrations of freed peoples.

As for the France's personal sphere of influence, it must be said that the unjust agressions of Belgium will no longer be tolerated and that France will reduce them to ashes should they continue their wanton path of greed and avarice.
