Building slots are too few and can be drasticly improvable like settlements in a county i can not accept that Constantinople sits 700 hundred years as a 1 settlement. Great works is a must.

I'd argue progress bars make it a lot easier, you know exactly when things finish.

CK3 is way easier than CK2. You cannot honestly say that it's an objective truth that CK3 is harder, what are you on?

Side note; I think I just got murdered for the first time in 150 hours of CK3, you'd routinely get murdered in CK2 if you didn't have a grasp of the situation. The AI does not punish you at all in CK3.
Agree. Everything being made a progress bar just makes it an inevitability. Anything you want to happen will happen given enough time and you can predict everything. Especially with religious and cultural conversion I don't really like it compared to the old way, but for some things I do like it. Give and take I guess.

But for the next Major overhauls I see either Imperialism or Religion and Faith depth as a must for the Major Packs. For the Flavor Packs I would like to have some variety. Even if most players are stuck in Europe. Like after Persia, tackle Britain next, and then Tibet, and then one for the West and East Slavs, and then one for East Africa (which is still a slept on region in my honest opinion).

East Africa is my favourite region to play in - it has so much potential once it gains some special interest buildings and things like trade routes. It is already a melting pots of religions, cultures and government types but a lot could still be done for it.

M'lords, m'ladies, let me spin you a tale of tragedy of Shakespearean proportions. Let us journey to the realms of Makuria, in far off Africa, were a great king had arisen and brought peace and prosperity to his lands. This king was blessed with five children - the eldest three sons and his daughter were gifted in all things, and any of them would have been a worthy successor to the realm. The fifth, and youngest, well, let us just say that few there were that would trust him with a sharp knife, let alone the running of the realm.

And the king looked at all he had done and at his eldest four and grew proud in his heart, and it may be that because of such pride he was punished.

The eldest son approached his father and asked for a practice duel, to which the king agreed. Neither man was a skilled warrior, and during the practice an accident happened in which the king by misfortune slew his son and heir, and by this became known as a kinslayer, accidentally as it may have been.

Then his second son, now the new heir, decided to embark upon a hunting trip, but soon word came back that a fearsome beast had set upon him and slain him.

Yet the travails of this family were not yet done, for the king's only daughter, the fairest in the land, went into labour, yet once more misfortune struck the family, for both mother and child died.

The king's third son then became ill and despite the best efforts of the court physician, he too died.

All this proved too much for the king and not long after he too passed, of a broken heart it was said, the loss of so many children to tragedy too heavy a load to bear.

Thus it was the youngest, and most ill-equipped to do so, took up the mantle of the King of Makuria. If any relief was to come of this series of tragic circumstances, it was that the new King at least did not lead the kingdom to ruin, kept in check by the advisors that had long served his esteemed father.

Maybe finally fix crusades in Crusader Kings 3 after 3 years? Or at least move some ressources to fixing that bug. I heard some players like crusades

CK3 was actually the most complete and stable release Paradox had to date. While CK2 had to release such amazing features like "Muslim rulers are now playable" and "polygamy".

Things that are still missing: Sunset invasion (meme), secret societies (meh meme), Nomads (tend to explode), Republics Trade routes and China (the update you're waiting for), 700 start date (ehhhh, mite b cool).
Half of those weren't even in CK2 at the 3 year mark. You're really on something else with this one.

I've been very clear elsewhere that the major problem I have with CK3 is the nail pullingly painful war mechanics and the overpopulation of low interest events. Two things CK2 was doing and is still doing very well on in my books.

@Tschobo I think your sentiment is more common than mine and I hope it continues to be good for you guys. I personally like T&T the least after friends and foes (still don't know what it does).

Most definitely, there were situations in CK2 where you had to 100% restart if the RNG didn't swing you the claims you needed to survive in the first few years. Having everything being timer based really got rid of that.

It's been 3 years and there's only 3 major DLC (or 4? Does Northern Lords count?). Y'all are slippin.

I know this is negative. Sorry to rain on the parade. CKIII is still obviously missing so much though that it's hard not to complain when there's an announcement like this.

BTW: to those doing the "respectfully disagree" thing... I understand that pretty much all of us on this forum are pretty hardcore, but I'll safely put myself in the top half of CK players (if not top 10%). I have 2000 hours in game, and that's creeping up as I write this; I can tell you that I've been playing since CK1 was first released.
Paradox shouldn't be above criticism. They're not going to go out of business because a couple of people say "mean" stuff on their forum.

You're mistaken. There have been two major DLCs (expansion packs) in three years: Royal Court and Tours and Tournaments. :)

"Incorrect, it's worse than that!" lol!

I was trying to be generous!
Third year anniversary and we're on "Chapter 2", whatever that means. Still no merchant republics, nothing about the Catholic church (bishops and whatnot), only surface level treatment of the Roman/Byzantine Empire, barely any color (and only if you get the 2 flavor packs), and a raft of other stuff missing... I'd be embarrassed to admit that it's the 3rd anniversary already.

Is there any DLC about the Byzytine coming out soon? Does anyone know?
I do know that the devs want to add more content for Byzantines eventually, but haven't announced anything so far. In any case we probably won't know until early next year.

Yes, the expansion pack "Rise of the Empire" will be released June 29, 2024. It includes Byzantine flavor events, imperial government, new law system (with a big focus on imperial gov't, but significant content also exists för federal and clan; minimal content for tribal gov't), a new liege-vassal interaction system, and many more interesting features).

Nah, just kidding. :) Nobody here* knows anything except what's in the official releases. We know that the next DLC is Legacy of Persia, and that it is coming in Q4. Beyond that there is no information on specific DLCs.

*Well, the Paradox staff might know, but they're obviously not going to talk ahead of official announcements.
