People don't want that though. People want a game they understand, with a UI that works and is easily accessible (that is, it's core concepts are easy to grasp, not that the game is in anyway easy) and that has clear actions and reactions. If HOI4 can do for HOI what EU4 did for EU then that would be fantastic.
I am sure the interface could be improved although it seemed fairly quick and easy to move and direct a large airforce in the video posted by one of the participants. It is unsettling, however, to hear that having to order the airforce to attack bombers or aim for air supremacy is unreasonable to the point where this person prefers not to employ the airforce at all. If the player should not be bothered with such a thing in this game I ask what on earth they SHOULD do? What is left that would be important enough to bother with?
They keep complaining about the game not telling them what to do. I do not want a game which tells me what to do! What is the point of that? If I do what the game tells me to do the game could just as well do it and I can go read a book. A game should tell me how to do things, not what to do. If You need to be instructed in what to do to prepare for war You should not play a grand strategy game. They grow bored because they do not know what to do and go to war straight away because the game did not tell them to do something else. Then they complain about the war starting too soon and strange effects such as the war ending early. If You make stupid decisions You should be punished by consequences. A game which will not punish You with these consequences is one where Your actions are irrelevant and THAT is a truly bad game.
They keep making irrelevant comparisons to EU and CK over and over again, complaining about not being able to recover from losing a war because they do not have hundreds of years to fight a dozen more wars and they keep wishing for HOI to be more like EU. Why on earth would one want a WWII game to be like EU?
These people are clearly not interested in the type of game HOI has to be given the theme. It would be a mistake to allow people who dislike a certain type of game to influence how that type of game is designed. We would end up with Command and conquer WWII. Bleh!
