Please look at when the USA is able to join the war and when they have their production capability and mobilization ready.

I think there should be no way US is mobilizing for total war in 36, 37 and drowning the Axis in heavy bombers. Later, sure but even if world tension rises early they should need time to get everything going.
I find it funny btw. that it was Paradox themselves who ruined the first game by using such cheesy tactics (especially when playing against noobs).
Pretty sure that is Johan's way of being "funny" which to some degree worked ;)

I thought that a youtuber playing France in the first game declared war on Germany for reoccupying the Rhineland. That is what shot the world tension up high enough for the U.S.(Johan) to join the war. I think most of us wouldn't DOW Germany for the Rhineland in a serious game.

The biggest issue wasn't that they dowed Germany for that, but that they got way too much WT from it. 50%. :D Dowing Germany for the Rhineland is supposed to give way less than that.

These journalists do not seem to be interested in the type of game I want. The way they describe the "hassle" of having to give your airforce the orders to intercept bombers or to do something else is fairly indicative. I hope there can be some other current in the world apart from the torrent towards simplification, instant gratification and total victory now buttons. I look at mankind and despair.

I look at mankind and despair.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
'My name is Paradox, dev of devs:
Look on my works, ye stupids, and despair!'

Have to agree though those comments screamed wanting to have it simplified for the sake of it, rich gameplay means complex options the contrary is a lie told by Apple minded peoples and Marketing aliens. Parts of it might be how the event is set up though. Even if they would have been interested they might have been simply unable to cope with the speed and options.
Next time it might be better to give them some introduction on the first day by a dev how the whole game works and all subsystems wotrk in detail and after that let them try in single player. Then on days 2 and 3 do the multiplayer. I think that might have given way better results.

People don't want that though. People want a game they understand, with a UI that works and is easily accessible (that is, it's core concepts are easy to grasp, not that the game is in anyway easy) and that has clear actions and reactions. If HOI4 can do for HOI what EU4 did for EU then that would be fantastic.

I am sure the interface could be improved although it seemed fairly quick and easy to move and direct a large airforce in the video posted by one of the participants. It is unsettling, however, to hear that having to order the airforce to attack bombers or aim for air supremacy is unreasonable to the point where this person prefers not to employ the airforce at all. If the player should not be bothered with such a thing in this game I ask what on earth they SHOULD do? What is left that would be important enough to bother with?

They keep complaining about the game not telling them what to do. I do not want a game which tells me what to do! What is the point of that? If I do what the game tells me to do the game could just as well do it and I can go read a book. A game should tell me how to do things, not what to do. If You need to be instructed in what to do to prepare for war You should not play a grand strategy game. They grow bored because they do not know what to do and go to war straight away because the game did not tell them to do something else. Then they complain about the war starting too soon and strange effects such as the war ending early. If You make stupid decisions You should be punished by consequences. A game which will not punish You with these consequences is one where Your actions are irrelevant and THAT is a truly bad game.

They keep making irrelevant comparisons to EU and CK over and over again, complaining about not being able to recover from losing a war because they do not have hundreds of years to fight a dozen more wars and they keep wishing for HOI to be more like EU. Why on earth would one want a WWII game to be like EU?

These people are clearly not interested in the type of game HOI has to be given the theme. It would be a mistake to allow people who dislike a certain type of game to influence how that type of game is designed. We would end up with Command and conquer WWII. Bleh!
