Three mountains didn't fire, but world conquest as Ryukyu did fire

Hi,
I just completed my first world conquest after 4500 hours. My dog thinks Ryukyu is her name I've been trying so long. I went and used the Shogun strat. I had a boatload of vassals obviously. I got the WC achievement but not three mountains. The only reason I can come up with is, I had two vassals that had vassals and/or had colonial nations of there own. My daimyo Portugal had a colonial nation subject and Holland had a vassal in South America.

I should have released and conquered them, but I blanked on the achievement at the time when I saw the WC achievement and then looked afterwards and three mountains is still locked.

Didn’t you have backup saves of important points in the game? You could go back and redo them. My guess would be the subjects of subjects is what’s blocking you.

Three mountains only allows subjects of Ryukyu. But the world conqueror achievement also allows subjects of subjects(but not subjects of subjects of subjects). In both cases tributaries don't count.

I did grab a backup but got cocky so......it was a hundred years ago... will annex the vassals with vassals
