I'm looking at climbing the three mountains, what is the best opening strat on 1.30? I'm doubting between going for a no cb in the Philippines or developing for renaissance.

Advice is more than welcome :)

If you don't want to do the shogun thing where you make everyone your daimyo then I recommend no CBing one of the hordes after they are war with each other to quickly either force vassalize them after their armies are dead (and they are out of all the other wars) or take a province provided you have coring range. This will allow you to flip to Tengri I believe by decision or simply send a missionary and accept demands instantly flipping you at no cost. Tengri will make your life much easier during a WC, +2 tolerance of heathens is huge considering nearly the entire world will be heathen to Tengri. Cheaper units is nice too, or you can make Shinto syncretic faith for 1 additional unrest reduction and 5% discipline, or Hindu for another 1 tolerance of heathens.

The usual Ryukyu strategy for a relatively painless experience is to go exploration first to get to Mexico for gold mines also allowing expansion into the rich trade node of Malacca while you are waiting on colonies to grow.

If you stay Tengri and leave one of your provinces Animist (or conquer a new Animist province) you can send a missionary and accept demands to flip back to Animist in 1544. This will automatically discover the entire New World so you don't have to fill it out with a Conquistador if you don't want to.

Hmm interesting, I thought the switch to Hindu was better for the CCR and the AE impact. Thanks for the advice!

A few streamers are climbing it in 1.30 with a strat that resolve around becoming Mayan and then reform as a horde. Even if all goes well be prepare to do the actual WC starting with a 150 years delay to set this up.

Yeah I saw that strat as well, I'm not completely sure if it is my cup of tea. Though it might be necessary for TTM to think out of the box.

Another way to become horde without the mayan thing, is to annex a horde, release it as vassal and play as the horde. You will need to more your capital in australia/new world to avoid CN as they will count as "another nation". Also you need to do a true one tag if done this way (no vassal in the end).
