Kebab, (Persian: کباب), (also kebap or kabab) is a Middle Eastern dish of pieces of meat, fish, or vegetables roasted or grilled on a skewer or spit[1] originating in the Middle East,[2][3] and later adopted in Central Asia and by the regions of the former Mongol Empire and later Ottoman Empire, before spreading worldwide.
WTF are you guys talking about? Oh yeah, I had one 2 weeks ago at a Persian restaurant.
If it is a slur for Turks and Arabs? Would Pierogi be a slur for Russians and Poles, then?
It originated from the phrase "remove kebab", which was taken from a hilariously delusional, hyper-nationalistic, pro-genocide rant in the description of a Youtube video of a song glorifying a Serbian war criminal. And even if you don't know the origin, most people are aware of its wide use in the phrase "remove kebab", which, well, is inherently genocidal in and of itself.
Personally I don't care about words, and I've used the phrase in a joking manner with Turkish friends, to joking replies about fatness and stupidity and clapping. But there are plenty of people who do care about words, and it's understandable that Paradox wants the official forum for discussion of their products to be free of phrases like this.
Anyway, this is all irrelevant. The fact of the matter is that Paradox has banned the use of this word on their private forums, and if you want to avoid a ban, you should avoid using the term.
