For my first game I started with Russia.
I appointed the Reactionary party and instituted State Capitalism (I felt justified as Nicholas I was the biggest reactionary of all the Czars).
And after the first 10 years I became the world's largest industrial power surpassing even the UK.
I've got a budget of over 900 pounds...
...that said...
I'm paying 400 of that for subsidies to keep the factories open.
Also, I noticed some other quirks...
I have to keep the peasants taxes at 100% with 25% tariffs and only about 25% military budget to keep consciousness and mil down.
So basically I have to keep the lower class from having luxury goods to start raising questions about the government, haha.
Also if I keep my military budget at max, the military gets out of hand.
Still feels like I'm overpowered with over 252 in surplus in the budget but I suppose I might be handicapped later in the game when it comes to techs.
I'm going to max out my Cav units and go see about annexing China.
