Just out of curiosity, why is it against the rules to send out personal insults but acceptable (seemingly in all the forums, not just yours) for people to insult cultures? I ask because I am annoyed with people continually saying Americans don't know geography or history.

I read somewhere that many of the american school children can't even point out where the U.S. is on the map. Most of them points on Russia instead, as they thought the america was the largest country in the world.

I hear those sorts of comments a lot on these boards, always with some vague statistic about how ludicrously stupid American children are without any sort of reference or source for the alleged statistics.
We do have educational standards that must be met in order for students to graduate from High School, and while they may be lower then many European nations, they aren't nearly so bad as Europeans seem to think.

Well, as we never actually been to an American school, we have to rely on statistics

Sorry for starting a arguement n your thread, and to anyone who asks, I know exactly where Hungary was, And pretty much the rest of Europe. AND EVERY ONE I KNOW, KNOWS WHERE THE US IS ON A MAP ever since kindergerden.
Of course the bad part of the news is going to make for more eye-catching headlines and for more memorable reading. Which headline do you think will grab more attention:
"Many US students have adequate knowledge of history and geography"
or
"Some US students know nothing about history and geography"
Of course the bad is always accentuated because it makes better copy.
So anyway, without looking at a map, almanac, or encyclopedia, I would like some of these European detractors to name the capital of my home state of Kentucky.
(extra points if you can tell me how to properly pronounce the state's largest city)

Yah -- while I am no defender of the various inadequacies of modern America, I find it somewhat irritable that in a forum where someone has just been banned for explicitly insulting a single individual, another someone has insulted (granted, somewhat implicitly) an entire nation of individuals.
It is very easy to be insulting, Attila. For instance, I could note that Hungary is the place in Europe where the greatest recorded percentage of any single countrys Jews were murdered in concentration camps -- but that probably doesn't really have a whole lot to do with you, does it?
If you feel that you are better than Americans are (as your tone carelessly insinuates), then you should back it up by behaving with dignity, honor, and maturity, as opposed to simply diving into the trash bin of cheap insults -- something which I have noticed that individuals of all nationalities are wont to do on a fairly regular basis.

So stop taking Attila so serious and make sure you let me know how my HUNGARY AAR is after I write it If anyone is upset over what he said, i will delete the post and all those others and we can forget about the whole thing.

hmmm, i might have to start bugging johan soon if he doesnt make hungary playable in the beta, I love playing Hungary in eu1 because its not too strong but has potential and is in a great, challenging location.
In eu2 it will or should be even better man eu2 gets better and better, im falling in love with this game all over again.

Because I have pointed to the fact the, yes in general You learn much more about European History in this game than You normally do in High School. And as I had the privilege to study in the US and several other European and Hungarian Universities, I can speak of (at least my) experience, weather people do or do not know where Hungary is!!!!!! BTW, what You wrote HELIUMGOD is simply not true (If I were in the US I could sue You for that, and would surly win!!!!!), anyhow that is all I wanted to say on this. Back to the real topic!
