In the screenshots we have seen beneath the "mana" bar there are a group of rainbow colored buttons featuring various roman gods. In thew dev diary 7 thread Samitte thinks they are Jupiter, Minerva, Mars, Vulcan, Vesta, Juno, Mercury, Janus, and Venus. What areas of game play do you think these will affect.?

Mars is obviously warfare, I assume Vesta is unrest and stability a la Vestal Virgins, Vulcan is probably production, Jupiter is probably where you make decrees and laws, Juno might be family life such as managing characters spouses, siblings and children, Minerva lost much of Athena's war aspect to Bellona so she might be somehow associated with the different pops through crafts but I am at a loss, Janus might be a way to manage your inheritance/transition of power as he is the god of beginnings and endings, Mercury is most likely diplomacy, and Venus is a sex/love/fertility goddess and also the divine ancestor claimed by Caesar and Augustus so either a way to manage pop growth or legitimacy.

Please spit ball your ideas for the buttons and we all know we will be proven mostly wrong when the inevitable rainbow god (Arcus is the roman goddess of rainbows) buttons dev diary/ies come out. Think of Samitte as the co-OP of this thread as they identified the gods here:

What general area of the game of the game do you think that each will cover? But this is new thread material so I will open one in the Imperator sub forum.

I think I'm pretty spot on with the deities, but I'm at a loss as to what Janus might do, but comparing it to EU:Rome's menu's makes most of them pretty clear what they do.

1: Jupiter - Nation overview - The menu we saw in DD 10 which is similar to what EU:Rome has. So ruler, government type, states with number of each pop and ideas.

2: Minerva - Technology - Shows your research points and how well its going in the different areas. Her icon shows a prominent scroll and she was the patron of wisdom, the closest deity the Romans had when it comes to new technologies.
3: Mars - Military (Army and Navy) - Shows your force limits, expenses, armies, navies.
4: Vulcan - Production? No idea what it could do but curious to see its function. Maybe just a screen showing what you produce in all your cities so you can find them to get them to your capital via trade.
5: Vesta - Religion - Omens, since she guards the sacred flame and has the religious power symbol behind her. In EU:Rome it used to show the different religions and their prestige as well but I hope that the latter is gone so the former can just be part of the ledger (if there is a ledger... will there be a ledger? Please Johan I love gazing in ledgers!)

6: Juno - Economy - Overview of your income, expenses and trade routes. Specifically her epithet of Juno Moneta and her association with the minting of coin and her icon showing chests of gold coins. EU: Rome also had these 3 things in the economy menu.
7: Mercury - Diplomacy - As the messenger god and with trade as part of Juno's screen.
8: Janus - Government - A mix of the Goverment and Missions&Laws menu of EU:Rome I hope. But its far fetched, I have no idea what he would represent otherwise. If Trade is not part of the Economy screen then I would argue Mercury gets trade and Janus Diplomacy but I'm at a loss. Maybe Unrest as well?
9: Venus - Characters - EU:Rome had 3 heads on the Characters icon and this one also shows 3 heads. The reason I think its Venus is because it looks like a depiction of her. I hope the Dynasty menu is folded in here as well.
