So we have a Holy Roman Empire that is neither Holy, nor Roman, nor an Empire, but we can't have the Golden Horde just keep its old name?
According to my sources (and yes, wiki is one of them) orda comes from ordu - khan's "capital", seat of power. Wiki states "organization". Thus, while GH gets more "civilized" the word Horde doesn't become inappropriate. Besides, Horde's armies and military organization have nothing to do with "your" (whoever you are) perception of orc hordes from Warcraft and zombie hordes from Walking Dead.
The game will start in 1444?Why?To add in future a expansion starting in 1399?

I think all of them should be named "The Horde"
I always refer to the Golden Horde as "the Horde".
Because the focus of EU is supposed to be the Age of Exploration and the Reformation when both of those events are a full century (and hours of gameplay) away from the EU3 start date? To paraphrase Johan, 100 years into a game of EU3, the Reformation is just starting and the New World is just being discovered. 100 years into EU4, the wars of religion are raging and the colonization of the New World is on.
It's also a much better start date for the Ottomans because the Timurids mostly dissolved, and weaker-than-historical Ottomans is one of EU3's bigger drawbacks.
EDIT: And Portugal starts off with Madiera and Azores while Castille starts off with Canaries, giving colonization a nice jumpstart.
Actually, I'm convinced now that it should remain the Golden Horde based nalivayko's post and some of my own background info, despite earlier agreeing that Khanate would make sense (and it still would, but I'm leaning the other way now). While, yes, the Horde (Ordu) was the big travelling seat of power (they put them on timber and drove them by oxen, these sort of semi-floating palaces travelling around on the steppes), if it weren't travelling then the 'horde' wouldn't have the same meaning in English. It would just be like the hundreds of other words that we've adopted in English to describe power structures (Estates General, Parliament, The Kremlin, The Forbidden Palace, etc.)
And this post puts it clearly: Golden Horde it should stay.
A better idea, rename to Golden Ordu and all will be solved
"Sad state of affairs"? Looking at that map, it appears that in 1444 they've still got Persia, which is the richest part of their empire.making sure the Timurids have a realistic shot at Mughal (which is going to be far more difficult than in EU3 given the Timurids' sad state of affairs).
Except that sounds much worse and people are already used to the name Golden Horde.
But don't is a horde after the Reformation, change to Golden Ordu,or to Golden Khaganate,or to Golden,or to anything, but NOT stay as golden horde!
What are you talking about? What reformation? Regardless, none of those names sound better. If you want country names to change depending on govt. type then you could focus on a lot of other things. Why isn't Venice named the "Most Serene Republic of Venice"? Surely that sounds a lot better. Why are OPM's like Ulm or Frankfurt still named after their starting province/city after it conquers more land? Surely that name doesn't still represent their current political structure.
