King John said:
And who knows, maybe Temujin will try to build a fleet this time? With naval settings it certainly is a possibility, and I think he wouldn't balk at the challenge of building a navy with it if Russia can support it.

I remember trying to build a fleet in CQS II(or III? anyhow), when I was an orthodox Russia. Took me 50 years of concentrated teching at the endgame when that money probably would have been better invested in infra tech :D

But hey! How many players get a Russia able to do something on the high seas? With the land slider setup, it might actually be fun to do so here. With latin tech, I might actually be able to use it for something else than carrying troops to fight Nappy and Blücher.

Temujin,

What for you trun on missions? :) I see you have 200 points from them

Russia creation historical event. Shouldn't you know that? :p

HALNY (HAL) said:
So, from 1591 to 1642 I wish that someone hold this provinces for me. Any offers?

#1: You suck . Dodging the events by "loaning" the province for 50 years is really bad. Dodge it by giving away a region permanently if you want, but not for 50 years. That's just gamey.

#2: You got the mechanic wrong. The AND is before the ORs. Meaning you need to have 1 in each of the three parenthesis to trigger it; not that you need to have 3 in a single parenthesis to trigger it.

P.S: I am back! :D Now to figure out my points...

I used Zeit's method of rounding systematically.

Fleet Share for Session 3
Spain: 0W + 476G * .25 = 119 / 679,75 = 17,5% or 2 power
Ottomans: 6W + 484G * .25 = 127 / 679,75 = 18,7% or 2 power
Russia: 5W + 5G * .25 = 6.25 / 679,75 = 0,9% or 0 power
France: 53W + 120G * .25 = 83 / 679,75 = 12,2% or 1 power
England: 138W + 277G * .25 = 207,25 / 679,75 = 30,5% or 3 power
Austria: 0W + 57G * .25 = 14.25 / 679,75 = 2,1% or 0 power
Sweden: 70W + 200G * .25 = 120 / 679,75 = 17,7% or 2 power
Brandenburg: 2W + 4G * .25 = 3 / 679,75 = 0,4% or 0 power
Total: 679,75

Manpower Share for Session 3
Spain: 94 / 1025 = 9,2% or 1 power
Ottomans: 199 / 1025 = 19,4% or 2 power
Russia: 209 / 1025 = 20,4% or 2 power
France: 153 / 1025 = 14,9% or 1 power
England: 50 / 1025 = 4,8% or 0 power
Austria: 198 / 1025 = 19,3% or 2 power
Sweden: 49 / 1025 = 4,7% or 0 power
Brandenburg: 73
Total: 1025

Income Share for Session 3
Spain: 2351 / 13340 = 17,6% or 9 prestige
Ottomans: 2168 / 13340 = 16,3% or 8 prestige
Russia: 1601 / 13340 = 12% or 6 prestige
France: 1015 / 13340 = 7,6% or 4 prestige
England: 2967 / 13340 = 22,2% or 11 prestige
Austria: 1343 / 13340 = 10% or 5 prestige
Sweden: 1401 / 13340 = 10,5% or 5 prestige
Brandenburg: 494 / 13340 = 3,7% or 2 prestige
Total: 13340

Edit request from previous session:
+3 base tax in Ingermanland(275), -100 ducats. In 1510, I asked for a +2 base tax in the province, which was at 6, so as to move it to 8 base tax. I checked save, and it is currently at 5 base tax. So my best guess is the edit wasn't done and my silly sub took an option for -1 base tax and +100 ducats. Please give me the base tax I should have and undo that move. I have no historical event affecting the base tax of any province so far.

Point calculation:
On session 1 I earned 49.5 prestige points, out of which I spent 40, remaining 9.5; I also earned 3 power points, out of which I spent 0. I owe you an AAR for the first session, which shall follow soon.

Power:
3 Leftover from session 1
On session 2 I earned:
2 power for manpower
1 power for AAR(to follow)
Receiving a declaration of war from another human - Brandenburg (1 point)
On session 3 I earned:
2 power for manpower
1 power for AAR(to follow)
Total: 10 power points.

Prestige
9.5 Leftover from session 1
On Session 2 I earned:
2 for CoTs
28 for European provinces
1.5 for colonial territory
6 for Share of Income
10 for Existing
3 from increasing income
2 from AAR
On Session 3 I earned:
2 for CoTs
43 for European provinces
7,75 for colonial territory
6 for Share of Income
10 for Existing
6 for Increasing Income
2 from AAR
Total: 138,75 prestige points

I wish to spend on this:
NOTE: I count this as if it was spent over two different sessions, hence why the occasional +3/+4 base tax.

12 prestige for +4 base tax in Ingermanland(275), together with the above request, bringing it up to 12.
9 prestige for +3 base tax in Karelia(1470), to 4
9 prestige for +3 base tax in Smolensk(285), to 8
9 prestige for +3 base tax in Mozyr(287), to 6
9 prestige for +3 base tax in Volgograd(458), to 6
9 prestige for +3 base tax in Orenburg(456), to 6
6 prestige for +2 base tax in Tula(279), to 8
6 prestige for +2 base tax in Vorones(449), to 6
6 prestige for +2 base tax in Azov(466), to 6
6 prestige for +2 base tax in Moscow(270), to 18
3 prestige for +1 base tax in Kursk(286), to 6
3 prestige for +1 base tax in Bogutjar(451), to 6
3 prestige for +1 base tax in Sochi(469), to 8
3 prestige for +1 base tax in Kalmuk(467), to 2
3 prestige for +1 base tax in Kouban(468), to 2
4 prestige for a Fine Arts Academy in Moscow(270 - Moskva)
8 prestige for Georgian culture
5 prestige for a refinery in Nizhgorod(272 - Nizhniy Novgorod)
10 prestige for a refinery in Ryazan(448 - Ryazan)
15 prestige for a refinery in Saratow(452 - Saratov)
5 power for a shipyard in Ingermanland(275 - Narva)
4 power for +2 base manpower in Moscow(270), to 15

138 prestige, 9 power spent
0,75 prestige, 1 power points left

Muscowy: 1492-1510

The Reign of Ivan III Veliky:

The end of the long reign of this great russian monarch would be caracterised by skillful diplomacy, rapid military expansion and the beginning of great domestic reforms.

On the diplomatic side, a relative of Pskov was married to bring it closer to the house of Moscow in the early year of 1492. However before Ivan III could extend his diplomatic influence elsewhere, he was brought into a conflict by his Crimean ally which attacked Georgia in 1493. At that moment, Ivan III saw a door of opening for Moscow to become a giant in the East, and inspected and enlarged his already very impressive army. In April of the following year, he was ready to move, and declared war on the Golden Horde, taking it completely by surprise. Although the battles between the Kholmski/Shenja duo vs Sheyhk Ahmad were fierce and repetitive, the later was killed after a couple confrontation and the Golden Horde fell into chaos.

Although Moscow was winning on the field, it came close to losing at home, as Ivan III took a drastic policy. Needing manpower for his armies and more centralised power, he decided to reject the Subednik Laws proposed and instead Encourage a free peasantry. Although the peasants were glad to be partly freed, the nobles were enraged, and this caused many unrest and rebellions at home while the troops were away. Thankfully, the skill of the two generals and reinforcement from conscripted peasants prevailed, and the noble uprising was crushed, along with Moscow's two enemies: Georgia and the Golden Horde.

First, Georgia was force-vassaled by Kholmski's army that went through the Golden Horde and then Crimea once Sheyhk Ahmad was defeated. Then, as he returned to join Shenja, dying along the way and being replaced by his second-in-command, Chelyadnin, the Golden Horde fell and was reduced to only its capital. This would allow Ivan III to proceed with the final phase in his diplomatic movements. A relative of the crusading Teutonics had been married by his cousin during the war. With the signing of the Horde's surrender, Moscow's influence got Georgia and the Teutonics to join his alliance. Ivan III would spend the rest of his reign fortifying his borders, improving the relations with Pskov and sending his armies to explore and finally colonise Siberia.

The early reign of Vasily III:

Vasily III had much to do to match his predecessor in reknown and greatness. He accomplished much, but his reign would be marked by treachery and ineptitude which almost doomed Moscow's ambition in Central-Eastern Europe. That Moscow managed to accomplish this much during his reign despite was a tribute to his perseverance and the skill of his marshall. His early reign was blessed by the fantastic results of his predecessor and the rise of Mihail Glinski as Russian marshall. Having taken the throne in late 1505, he used his assets to quickly declare war on Lithuania in 1506 using the Polish invasion BB as an excuse. Like the Horde before them, Lithuania was taken unaware by Mihail Glinski and a cohort of lesser generals and talented officers blitzing accross the border.

This would be by no means an easy war. Lithuania called on its liege, the Polish King, to intervene on his behalf. Said King boasted the largest army in Europe, greater than even the Russian and Turkish armies. And yet, after repeated battles which Mihail Glinski won against his opponent by using the Dvina and then the Dniepr river to his advantage, as well as the Polish separation of forces between east and western fronts, it seemed clear that the Russians were overwhelmingly winning this war, having destroyed half of Poland's army that was guarding the east, driven the lithuanians into hiding in Poland, and occupied two-thirds of the country. The invasion of Poland started, and Vasily III was confident he would soon be the master of Eastern Europe. And then disaster struck.

Muscowy-Russia: 1510-1536

Unable to defeat the Russian army and knowing he was about to lose his lithuanian throne after a disastrous yet short 4-year war, Zygmunt I Stary, King of Poland and Lithuania, made a move that took Vasily and his whole état-major off-balance and saved his country for the time being. A fake peace treaty was given to the Russian armies bearing the forged signature of their monarch, and the armies and occupation garrisons immediately stopped fighting and returned to their country.

By the time Vasily III realised the treachery, his marshall was a day's march from Moscow, returning victoriously with a small warchest instead of the vast lands Vasily desired(Stupid sub for alliance-peacing Poland for cash and wasting 99% warscore earned with much blood!). Although he wanted to destroy Poland now and forever, he knew that reinvading was impossible. His army was weakened from the invasion, the morale would drop vastly if they reinvaded after coming back in peace, and most importantly, Zygmunt had the time to reorganise his armies and peace on the western front. Moscow needed time to recover from that blow.

In the ten years it took to recover militarily, Vasily III bid his time and focussed on diplomatic efforts. In 1518, he influenced his allies to move on the remnants of the Golden Horde, which was soon vanquished and annexed by his allies. In 1520, proud from the freedom he had brought the Russians, with a renewed army, and with a legal claim from his line's marriage with a Byzantine Princess, he laid claim to the title of Russian Emperor and invaded Lithuania again and Poland to press his claim and free all remaining Russians.

Again, Mihail Glinski proved the marshall Russia needed, and although (ironically) Brandenburg joined the war on the side of Poland in 1524, it proved too little too late to save Lithuania, which condeded vast territories to Vasily III within the year. Despite the fall of Lithuania, the german-polish tandem kept on fighting for 4 more years before it was agreed that Poland would pay several chests of gold in reparations for ending the conflict. It was that time that the Teutons thought was appropriate to launch an invasion of Sweden.

Ivan IV Grozny's Rise to the Throne:

The war had been going on for 5 years(Silly AI war) when Ivan IV rose to the throne. Assessing the situation, he quickly realised the invasion of Sweden wouldn't work unless he pulled major ressources into the conflict. Annoyed because his realm was exhausted from fighting and he preferred to focus elsewhere, he signed peace with his neighbor, sending several chests of gold for a return to the status quo antebellum.

Oops, that was me IIRC. I was called in directly after having concluded a session in another game. Probably around 23.00 or so, or perhaps even later.

I was given no info whatsoever by any player in the game. Neither any info whom I subbed, nor if the perm had been playing the nation from start that evening. As I remember the clock was started right away.

Directly at start IIRC I got a peace demand from Lithuania who asked for separate peace for several provinces. I naturally declined. He, this looks bad I thought. I inspected the war exhaustion and it was around 4 IIRC. Before I checked war score I got an alliance peace proposal from Poland, they offered a few ducats. I believed that was not that bad considering the situation. Poland offered no provinces so apparently I did not control much of their provinces. As we all know one cannot check the warscore vs another nation while you have their peace proposal on the screen.

Well, I could have said no and then inspected the war score. Sorry about that. But it surprises me greatly to hear that the warscore was +99 considering AI Lithuania asked for provinces and Poland offered none.

Temu, take it as a lesson to learn: always give some instructions of war aims if you leave in the middle of a war. Especially if the war is vs the AI. Since in such wars you can almost always achieve what you want.

Yes, you're very correct, and sorry for coming down harsh on you. It was my mistake for leaving no orders for my sub(tried to find someone for half a week, couldn't, and then last minute I had no time to leave orders). I find the peace offers you receive very strange really. I thought you made the mistake of trying to seperate peace Poland and ended up peacing whole alliance. But yeah, WS was 99%, my troops had occupied all but 3 of Lit's provs and were sieging as deep as Krakow in Poland iirc. Admitedly, I knew leaving with no orders was risking not getting what I wanted, but I was surprised to see a peace for mere gold. Still. It looks like the rest of the session was well administered, so don't worry about it.

Lets see if I understand this correctly: You were dowed twice by Spain(or dowed it twice). One was a victory where you took 2 provs(since its +2 per provs, not +1 per provs), the other was a victory where you didn't take anything. And you were also dowed twice by Austria, neither of which you won. That correct?

Uhh? Non-Euro provs are worth 0.25, not 0.5.

If you won twice, it should be there twice. If you won only once and the other war was a stalemate then the +1 for victory shouldn't be there at all in power. If you lost a war vs Austria, you should also have lost prestige.

Ad.1. I understand that means Russia is not interested in taking this provinces from me :)

Ad.2. So if I will not own 25, 163, 167, for example, event will not show up?
