without SMEP, but with TRIPARTITE PACK for AoD & Pumas Spritespack you can agree ??
As Gringoesteban wrote, there's a small difference between the two brigade models file. If you want to add the TP to TRM you should then use this file (extract it and then put it to your ...\AoD\gfx\interface folder).

Also, use this adapted province.csv file (unpack and then copy it to your ...AoD\db folder) to keep Gringoesteban's IC and resource changes plus my new urban provinces (Breslau, Aachen, Brest-Litowsk, Sevastopol etc.).

...as for the interceptors, I still have to correct the interceptor icons to make them compatible with the TRM.

To sum up, install in this order: 1) TRM 2) Tripartite Pack 3) Corrections 4) the two files I've linked here.

@Titan79, thanks, the gfx-problem I have simply forgotten.

Your province-file, I didn't use, but now, I can live with your changes, Gringoesteban not.
To future rework my provinces.

@Gringoesteban, personally I'm not a skifffan.

Hi,
I was playing my first game with your mod when I saw you had a newer version so have restarted! One very simple question - where are all the new event files located please? (I'm sure they are somewhere obvious but ....)

Also - I didnt notice any retire the old guard event and as Germany seems to start with the old Arma leader set (Himmler etc) and the leader ratio settings are quite different - it seems difficult to get many decent FMs and Generals via autopromotion. Is this a deliberate decision or just a result of using files from different mods?

Thanks

Most of them are in db/events/hoi2.txt

TRM does not have this event.

and as Germany seems to start with the old Arma leader set (Himmler etc) and the leader ratio settings are quite different - it seems difficult to get many decent FMs and Generals via autopromotion. Is this a deliberate decision or just a result of using files from different mods?
The leader file is whatever vanilla AoD used in April 2010, with some changes that I made. For example, Rommel, Manstein, Donitz, Zhukov, etc. have better traits. Other leaders who I do not like such as Schorner and Model got nerfed.

Leader promotion is free -- you do not lose a skill point when you promote a general. This change was introduced in either the AoD 1.05 or 1.06 patch. Therefore, you do not need to use autopromotion anymore. Also, with this change, there is no need to retire the old guard.

Dear gringo,

just a note to say thanks for your mod. It really makes Aod a better game. In my current game playing as Germany it is May '41 and in couple of weeks I will set out on Barbarossa. I am really liking how the AI Brits are fighting back with multiple landings with multiple divisions all over the eastern Med. The Suez too is a nice tough nut to crack which I have had to leave untaken. The AI too has begun to push back in Ethiopia, and has forced me to pull back my divisions toward Egypt. Good rational acts by the AI and well modded units who could ask for more. finally I'm with you on Shorner, and Model. Indeed I used to have a soft spot for Col-Gen Heinrici, but after reading Richard Evens' great triolgy I am having to revise my opinion.
Thanks again for the mod.
d.

....by 1941 ive destroyed some 1500 convoys.... GB has not convoys left in pool but still units in Africa are in supply and im not sure why?

I am not sure. London has an impassible connection to Malta, but ENG would still need convoys to get the supplies from Malta to Africa. Does ENG have a connection to India from Africa? For example, if Persia is puppeted and the Allies own Syria and Iraq then the IC from India could be making supplies to feed the troops in Africa.

Even in vanilla, no matter how many convoys I sunk, Allied troops in Africa would always be supplied. I think they probably get their supplies from South Africa, Free France, Belgian Congo, etc. If you click on the armies, where does it say they are supplied from? Same in India, which has enough industry to supply their armies unless they have too many divisions there. The biggest advantage to sinking convoys is probably capturing resource depots that are unable to return their resources to the home country. Unless it's an island or area with no industries, very hard to prevent troops from being supplied with u-boats alone.

Something I'd like to see in this mod is an event which allows for a separate peace with the Western Allies should Germany hold long enough (e.g. until the end of 1945) or should she launch a succesful counterattack, recapturing Antwerp and/or other Belgian/French provinces (Ardennes-offensive like). This event would not automatically lead to peace but rather to a % that the Allied AI would sign a peace with Germany, leaving her free to continue the war against the Soviets.

Please let me know how your Barbarossa Campaign goes. That is the best part of TRM and I am always looking for ways to improve it.

Let me know if the USA gets aggressive with its amphibious assaults in France and the Med beginning in mid 1943. I have tried everything to make the USA more aggresive, but nothing seems to work.

....after reading Richard Evens' great triolgy....
Thanks for mentioning this. I had never heard of this trilogy before. I downloaded it as audiobooks and will listen to the whole thing in the background on my media player the next time I play TRM. Although I think each book is like 40 hours, so it might take several full games of TRM before I can finish all of them.....

allied AI playes extremely satisfactory, every game that ive played they have tried to make invasion with or without USA, in 1943 USA have made full scale invasion with some 13 div in france. On the other hand Axes AI sucks, italy is just poor. they cant survive 1942 without German help, even if they conquer entire north afrika after some time allies will crush them with few div invasion, cause italy will defend alexdrandia with some 15 div and with few for the rest

Two small issues:

In the early invasion of Scandinavian event there is a small text mistake it says something like "Invade Scandinavia historically (1941)" This should be 1940.

When Japan declare war on USA, Germany get the option not to declare war (10 dissent). This does not work very well, because Japan tent to declare war on Netherlands and therefore make the USA join the allies anyway.

I think I fixed that with the TRM 1.07 release but I will check to make sure. If I remember right, the event text was fine but the option that you click on said 1941 instead of 1940.

Yes, that is true; the USA usually joins the Allies at some point. The best option for the Player is to declare war on the USA (historical) and avoid the dissent hit. I don't know of any event command that would prevent the USA from joining the Allies, but if you know how I can do it, please let me know.

Yeah, at the moment the terrain in north africa is a little too deadly in terms of attrition I reckon and of course as you said Italy seems to leave the libyan beaches unguarded or barely guarded, so the allies *always* invade and slip in behind them, taking Tripoli long before Tobruk or bengazi.

To be honest I'm not even sure why those beaches are there. Nobody tried any serious naval landings in Libya or Egypt - nothing more than raids, not division sized landings followed by actual operations. It might help the AI just to remove all of them entirely (or almost entirely bar one or so.).

Italy without help should be ravaged and beaten back given a bit of time with massive losses, but they shouldn't be being encircled due to landings in their own ports as soon as the war begins.

For the next version of TRM -- which will probably not be released for a while since I am burned out on modding -- I will remove beaches from seven provinces in North Africa: Bizerte (940), Sousse (938), Zuara (933), Bardia (916), Fuka (910), El Alamein (909), and Port Said (901). After this change, ten beach provinces remain along the North African coast between Casablanca to Suez, inclusive, which gives plenty of opportunities to conduct amphibious assaults.

I will take another look at infra levels in North Africa. I have already raised them twice, from 10 up to 30, but maybe I will go up to 50. Attrition in the deserts is quite bad and the ITA AI is too stupid to use logistic generals for its units that are wandering around in the desert.

Optional Battle of the Atlantic Events

Below I will copy a post from one of the TRM AAR threads:

Are you planning on sharing these events before the next release of TRM? Because according to your post on the official TRM topic, it looks like you won't release a new version anytime soon.

I am planning to start a new game and it would be nice if to play with these events.

You can get the text of the events here:

http://www.gamefront.com/files/20325955/TRM+battle+of+the+atlantic+events.txt

These events ARE save game compatible, so if you are in the middle of a game it is no problem to add them to the end of your db/events/hoi2.txt file.
