If they move major forces to the UK, they will. The USAF can make your life hard and the US navy is probably much bigger than the Kriegsmarine. I don't know what the AI capabilities are, though.

4) Spain will not enter into foreign relations with other countries without consulting to Germany.

Militia are in all regards highly superior to garnison divisions for garnisson duty (sans partisan supression, but France only has a few of those). Cheaper both in ICdays and MP, better defensiveness, and above all, mobility. They melt under air attacks, though. I always spam MIL for the Siegfried Line and aditional garnisson duty afterwards.
I use one division on the actual beach, and a backup of three divisions per three beaches. With the good infrastructure of Europe, you can get the backup there quickly.

What I say now is highly ahistorical and only one possibility but if Hitler had annexed Spain it would not have remained as a single state anymore. One nazi strategy was to play different ethnical groups against each other and Spain can be divided to Basque state, Catalonia, Castillia and Leon regions. Maybe Portugal would join axis if Hitler will give them some Spanish terretory.
According to my alternative scenario, Hitler made agreement with nationalist leaders and left Spain as a single state. ( Of course, it is made puppet of Germany). Why should Hitler divide the country and create a lot of useless allies ? There are not many ideological differences between Falangists and Nazis. Furthermore, Basque and Catalon seperatists are mostly leftist groups( we also fought against them in SCW), So, supporting Nationalists is a good choice to reduce the effect of these groups.
I think that Nationalist Spain should be much, much more likely to join the Axis after the SU is defeated. While Spain was devastated by war, historically Franco sent the Blue Division to the Eastern Front and adopted "wait and see" approach. If Germany won in the East, IMO he would most likely join the Axis. It's clear that with unfinished Axis business in the Med Hitler would want to get Gibraltar.
In your situation Portugal would probably join the Axis, too. It makes sense politically and ideologically. The British would neither be a threat nor could offer Portugal protection from Germany.

I completely agree. Spain would join the axis if SU is defeated. But unfortunately, there is not event for this situation in the game. I had zero chance for alliance with Spain and I didn't have any other option than to invade Spain for closing the Med.

But these events are valid before Barbarossa. A time when Franco was very reluctant to enter into Axis. I get Hendaye meeting decision, offered them Morocco and they refused. But after successful Barbarossa, Franco would have certainly joined the Axis. ( or at least, there would have been high chance for this). How longer could he have managed to stay out of war, if Germany defeated SU ?
Not very long. After Franco's demands from 1940 Hitler had lost his patience for him. Should the SU fall, Franco would either have to join the Axis or face the German might. Personally, I doubt that he would want war with Germany while he didn't have any real allies that were meaningful in the European political stage. After the fall of the SU the British wouldn't be a threat for Franco, either, so there is no plausible reason why he shouldn't join. Not that he had much to offer. Spain was so weak and isolated that its main contribution to the Axis war effort would probably be to allow the German soldiers to attack Gibraltar from Spanish territory and to send troops to Africa to help the Germans and the Italians fighting there.
Divide and conquer strategy. Nazis used this lot of in former SU. Much more easier to play minors against each other than face them all. And so what if they are leftist? Germanys ideology is National Socialism, basically extrem populism. Hitler pretty much allied with anyone who supported his ideas exception groups that he thought were inferior.

Annexing Spain was an error. You should simply make them a puppet.

There are many differences between Italian corporatism and German National Socialism. I am quite sure that there are also many differences between Franco's Spain and Hitler's Germany or but somehow, they are very similar in various ways : common hatred towards communism and democracy, militarism, populism, focus on planned economy, importance of conservative values etc. To sum up, these similarities make them good allies against democracies.
I don't know in detail if Catalons have different ethnic origin from Castilian-Spanish but this is not really important. if they see themselves as seperate identity (actullay, they did, considering the existence of Catalon seperatist movements), then I would count them as different identity. Anyway, I decided not to divide Spain in this AAR.
