I have thinking about the June 6th release date for Semper Fi, and realise that I have been selfish. At no time did I consider the Paradox and Gamersgate staff who will have to work on Sunday to ensure a smooth release.

Why should these people have to work on their hard-earned day off just to get a game out to us?

So I think that, to allow all those dedicated staff a good weekend's rest, that the game should be released today, Friday the 4th June. I realise it is not the anniversary of the Normandy landings, but it is the anniversary of the Battle of Midway, which is probably more appropriate considering the Pacific War theme of the Marines' motto "Semper Fi".

Some portals like Impulse allow preload from the mainpart of the game.

The last (small) Part can only be downloaded after Release Time. But then...you only need some Megabytes...to start installing the game. Helps much to make the run at release days easier.....for all who payed in advance.
Good thing. Would hope...gamersgate would do same in the Future. No reason to wait until last second...for the main part.

Yeah, in the "5 days left" channel someone told us he got a mail from gg in which was mentioned that the preload starts 48h before the release...we are waiting

Uhhh...because were paying for it? They want my money they need to perform. I don't feel sorry for somebody making a buck off it. Not going to happen.

Problems with this is that the patch most likly just consists of a single file less than lets say 50 MB. Its hard to preload parts of it and frankly as it takes me about a minute to get it down I wont save any time.

I talk more about full game releases, like next with Vicky2.

And SF hast 116 MB.

And i know..they give most times only a single install file at GG. But i had also Games with much more files there....so it should be possible.


Maybe the .exe and some key files could be let out...until Release day. Then you just download a 5 MB file...and thats it.

Wouldn't installing part of SF mess up HOI3 (as an incomplete batch of files may need a file that wasn't included in the pre-load), so it wouldn't be playable until the rest of SF is out. This seems a bit weird
