I hope that means they radically improved the AI. Because if it's just plain hard to be a small country, then imagine how a small country run by the AI will collape like a wet taco....

WC has already been stupidly easy with the other games. I hope it is extremely difficult to be even a regional conquerer in this game.
There was nothing that was especially difficult about the simple act of conquest in this era, so it shouldn't be "rediculously", "extremely", or even "terribly" hard to do it. The problem was diplomacy and the tendency of the Great Powers to join together and lay down a can of whoop ass on nations that decided Europe was theirs.
If you can beat the assembled powers then there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to pull a Napoleon. In fact, more power to you.

I guess that internal politics will limit expansionistic pipe-dreams of nutty leaders, if you want to pull a WC game, you'd need to engineer your society towards a monstruous military machine, with few liberties.

ya, Falalan song is clearly a masterpiece. It surely deserves to be in the game great music file as Bach is for a few centuries later.
