I don't want to see missions for having a larger army/navy than rival nation ... if it would exceed your forcelimits to do so.

I don't want to see tons of annoying 'flavour localisation' of the kind which is prevalent in many mods. I'm talking about not only deciding 'Byzantium' is wrong, but also deciding that 'Roman Empire' is also wrong and should be replaced with 'Imperatikraticon Rohhmanorium' or some nonsense. Kingdom of Sweden? 'Sveahhischlund'. England? 'Angloricum'. 'Duke of Catalonia'? Nope, 'Duc de Catalunyiyya'. You know the king of thing. The force which takes over people's minds and compells them to replace a perfectly legible English (or Swedish or whatever) interface with a massive incomprehensible heap of different archaic languages.

I don't want to see missions for having a larger army/navy than rival nation ... if it would exceed your forcelimits to do so.
The thing is, I have found that when one gets a bigger army-navy mission, then if you immediately check the ledger you can see that in fact at the moment you really are only a few thousand troops behind.Thus if you insta-build 10 infantry regiments (parallel) then in 90%+ of the cases you accomplish the mission in two months, and often by a margin. However, when the mission is against a blob one should be curious about it - and ledger checks always showed it to me that yes, in fact your army is just shy of theirs. However, that is because theirs is at a low - and unless one acts quickly enough, they rebuild it and then the mission really becomes impossible. Check the ledger when you get such a mission!

About manufactory missions, yes, especially since it has a propensity to mix them up - build a Winery in a Textile province. Derp...

Hey, we're talking about what we want and don't want in the vanilla. As you yourself stated, this is something prevalent in mods - so this complaint is totally valid, merely misplaced. Tell it to the modders, not the developers - the modders are the ones responsible, who shall be concerned.

Hey, we're talking about what we want and don't want in the vanilla. As you yourself stated, this is something prevalent in mods - so this complaint is totally valid, merely misplaced. Tell it to the modders, not the developers - the modders are the ones responsible, who shall be concerned.

With mods we can avoid weird stuff, yeah. But I don't want to see that creeping into Vanilla.

This is very true. Make them only trigger in appropriate provinces and with a better reward than a level 4 advisor, or simply remove them. Currently they are only an extreme annoyance seeing how often they trigger.

Part of the problem is that the default setting is 'generate advisor from cultural tradition', not 'generate advisor only by event'. The latter is an option, and since most events give only 1-3 star advisors this would give a point to these missions. However, on the default setting I can create better advisors with much less hassle, just trade a lot and that's all.

I would be content with limiting them to provinces with approppriate resources (and uni+art school on grain and... fish?) so that at least they don't flow into each other. And yes, make them a lot more rare - when you have the biggest military in the midgame (yes, blob) and trade quite a lot, there are extremely few other missions left. Just convert X, which you run out of after the Counterreformation, the Baroque Music and a few religious decisions.

Still worse: I don't want to see, say, England happily conquering territory on the other side of Europe while calmly accepting foreign occupation of some of their core homeland provinces. Ditto for France, Turks, etc.

In short, I would like a more strategically minded AI, and I mean long term strategy, but I admit this is probably extremely difficult if not impossible to achieve.

I don't want to see England at all!

To be fair, messy borders always happen before a nation is unified under the same flag. Just think about how France started in this game.

What I do hate is the minting system, and the colonist vs settlement system.

In fact, I should be able to double, triple, or even quadruple the expenses on EVERYTHING to speed up the MTTH/success % of missionaries/colonists/settlements/CB/traditions events to fire.

I'm sorry, but to me its much more important that a province looks good when taken by a neighbour than it make sense as an administrative unit. Provinces are things you fight over, not necessarily the actual structure of nations.

Of course, this is completely ruined by the AI's insistence of taking completely illogical provinces in peace deals.

I'll bet I'm in the minority here, but I'd prefer not to see fleets on the map at all. I hate micromanaging them and it doesn't make any sense for a fleet that's thousands of miles away from my country. I'd rather have patrols, transport, trade missions, and naval combat be abstracted somehow.

The AI starting crazy wars, usually without a CB- 1/3 strength (from start) Lithuania starting war with double start size Muscovy with no CB. Not taking into account that TO is allied to Muscovy and so is Polotsk (who has 1/4 of Lithuania's army alone)... All this with Lithuania having allies of Hungary (who was losing to Austria in a war), 2 OPMs (Morea/Riga).
To make it even more crazy I guaranteed Muscovy (as Denmark), PU with Norway & Sweden + 2 vassals. I alone (with those allies) could easily beat Lithuania & Hungary on army size.
Andddddd then the GH declared on Lithuania after 3 weeks into the war... Ouch.

I don't want to see tons of annoying 'flavour localisation' of the kind which is prevalent in many mods. I'm talking about not only deciding 'Byzantium' is wrong, but also deciding that 'Roman Empire' is also wrong and should be replaced with 'Imperatikraticon Rohhmanorium' or some nonsense. Kingdom of Sweden? 'Sveahhischlund'. England? 'Angloricum'. 'Duke of Catalonia'? Nope, 'Duc de Catalunyiyya'. You know the king of thing. The force which takes over people's minds and compells them to replace a perfectly legible English (or Swedish or whatever) interface with a massive incomprehensible heap of different archaic languages.
Well, classical languages as Latin or Old Greek are very useful things. Some people just too ignorant to admit this.
And there was no such thing as "'Duchy of Catalonia", but County of Barcelona.

I don't want to see meaningless policies happening. I mean, Ottomans colonizing Americas or Austria requiring Brittany to France in peace treatis. Each nation should follow its own path of political plausibility: for Austria, keeping control over Germany and expanding eastwards, for the Ottomans, trying to take over all of eastern Europe, for Russia, unifying and protecting the other slavs, for France, Britain, Spain building up big colonial empires, for italian minors, maintaining a leading position in international commerce etc.
