- Upgrading a Center of trade
- Seizing land
- Seizing a province from a subject*
- Giving provinces to a subject*
- Starting a subject annexation
- Switching religion
With caveats :
- Declaring an independence war as a subject
Something should be done to allow the aggressor to stay at war against the breakaway state if it was his goal and he is prepared to fight for the independent state’s allies.
- Provoke rebels
The mechanic should probably then not be instantaneous or else it could be exploited in multiplayer and against the AI
*Provided it is not occupied or besieged
** Unless you are in a religious war
Now, if I need to make a justification, I don’t see how a distant war most of my country may have never heard of should be a reason to disable the mechanics I outlined above. One common trick some people call “strategy” involves staying at war to prevent indépendance wars forever or until they are strong enough to take on their subject.
Seizing land is especially annoying because, in the current version, there is the 5 years cooldown and in addition you are further delayed if you didn’t timed your wars properly.
For Center of trades, I don’t see how these differ from buildings in concept beside the fact that they don’t take a building slot.
And lastly, if you do vassal feeding, it is mandatory in the game currently to finish all your wars at once because you can’t give land to your vassals if you are at war. This limitation is also silly and has no in-game justification. As long as you don’t give your capital or an occupied province, I don’t see what would be different than giving it while in peace.
