- Upgrading a Center of trade
- Seizing land
- Seizing a province from a subject*
- Giving provinces to a subject*
- Starting a subject annexation
- Switching religion

With caveats :
- Declaring an independence war as a subject
Something should be done to allow the aggressor to stay at war against the breakaway state if it was his goal and he is prepared to fight for the independent state’s allies.
- Provoke rebels
The mechanic should probably then not be instantaneous or else it could be exploited in multiplayer and against the AI

*Provided it is not occupied or besieged
** Unless you are in a religious war

Now, if I need to make a justification, I don’t see how a distant war most of my country may have never heard of should be a reason to disable the mechanics I outlined above. One common trick some people call “strategy” involves staying at war to prevent indépendance wars forever or until they are strong enough to take on their subject.

Seizing land is especially annoying because, in the current version, there is the 5 years cooldown and in addition you are further delayed if you didn’t timed your wars properly.

For Center of trades, I don’t see how these differ from buildings in concept beside the fact that they don’t take a building slot.

And lastly, if you do vassal feeding, it is mandatory in the game currently to finish all your wars at once because you can’t give land to your vassals if you are at war. This limitation is also silly and has no in-game justification. As long as you don’t give your capital or an occupied province, I don’t see what would be different than giving it while in peace.

You cant upgrade/downgrade a center of trade during war because it costs more warscore for centers trade. A CoT lvl 1 will cost more warscore then a normal province with the same dev, and a cot2 will cost more warscore then a Cot lvl1, and a CoT lvl 3 cost more warscore then a lvl 2.

What's the difference with developping during war, then? Whether it costs money or monarch points, isn't it very similar?

And as I said, you obviously couldn't do this with a province you don't fully control, be it besieged or occupied.

I have not thought about dev! Reject my previous comment. But I think they didnt implement the downgrading of a CoT during war to prevent nation runing by the nation who defended. But why you can not upgrade a CoT during war, I have no idea.

Well, you can also burn development during a war, I think ;) .

I'm aiming towards the removal of most or all of the things you can't do during war, but if it pleases you, downgrading a CoT could be kept as an exception. It's not like I do this often.

If the idea is that you could downgrade the CoT just before the siege begins, in order for your ennemy to have something less powerful and to have to invest 1200 ducats upgrading it again (instead of "only" 1000*), I don't see why you couldn't do it a few days before.

If it's a question of warscore, and the ennemy ends up not taking the CoT, you just permanently harmed your country for 1 or 2 warscore. I would think it wasn't worth it.

About the other actions, it's just that all of those could have been done seconds before the war declaration, at a moment when mobilization was fully done and combat was about to begin. It could also have been done the same day a peace treaty changing hugely the borders between two country is signed.

I find ridiculous that I can often be at war for 6 years, then make a peace, seize land, start diplomatic annexations, upgrade CoT, and the very same day, declare war to another ennemy, but if I had done all of that the next day, it would have been impossible.

Those restrictions just don't make sense to me, and they never did.

*A conquered CoT automatically revert to the previous level, so you will never have a World trade center intact
