What are your favorite things to do in the game?

The only ones I can really come up with so far seem to be trying to create the Kingdom of Spain and trying to create the Kingdom of Italy. Anyone else got some good ones??

I love having my way with the Holy Land. That's fun. And getting really ridiculously difficult these last few patches.

Also, it's GREAT fun playing Denmark with the express purpose of mucking up the HREmpire. ^^

Or playing Norway and conquering Denmark and Sweden, destroying their titles and subsuming their territory, wiping their Cultures from the map and hunting their noble lines down to the very last scion! I might be ... influenced by history with that last one. XD

I just get lost in the politics and the plotting, including politics and plotting against my neighbors. I find playing for an explicitly territorial goal in CK2 to be pointless, since land doesn't directly translate into power, but I will pursue an expansionist policy if it weakens my nearby rivals.

Current goal - separating Poitou and Bourbon from France while propping up my grandson's rule against uppity Breton vassals. Might also meddle in southern Scotland, as it has broken off from Scotland itself and broke up into several minor statelets.

I get random joy from starting costal and taking land all over the place. Then I give it to the Pope. Pope loves you and then spends the rest of the time beefing with people who's de jure land he now owns. Even better, give the Pope a duchy and he'll be mad at some random king for owning land he wants.

Rule Britannia...starting as Earl Gofraid of the Isle of Man.
I'm 101 years in and I've gone through 6 rulers.
Elective succession, full Irish, all in.
I had one ruler go from being a Count with 3 counties to two Kingdoms.
I've got all of Ireland, all of Scotland; the Duchies of Lancaster, York, and Northumberland; and the counties of Gwynedd and Powys.

I'm trying to build an empire where I never call up my armies (except for rebels). I let my allies do all the work. So far as Leon I have managed to two muslim iberian kingdoms (thanks to the hre). I'm looking forward to seeing how far I can go with it.

Also dumb fun is choosing the county of Mortain in Normandy, using the ruler creator to make a blonde moustachioed Frank/Breton/Norman named Astérix le Gaulois. Make sure to add -ix for males and -ia for females to the end of any names your children are generated with.

Gear up and show the world what being indomitable truly means.

Awesome idea though, I'm determined to try it as sson as I get my hands on Ruler Designer

Probably starting as William the Bastard and cheesing my way to hell. I was pretty close to pulling 3 invasions in 3 generations but my ruler died too soon=no invasion of HRE. currently i have switched to cathar and am catharizing all of France, England and northern Spain. Lets see if holy war can win me the HRE crown...

Playing the Premyslids a few times has made me rather keener on the marriage game than I used to be. (It's so nice finding that the next King of Bohemia will be an unexpected Duke elsewhere )

My current project, though, is to work out how in the name of Johan one keeps the Capetians on the throne in France in 1066 when half the dukes hate the king and the other half are distinctly lukewarm.

Probably. I couldn't really tell especially well on the map in the book. With closer inspection I think you're right.

Looks like it's the Lannion area of Côtes d'Armor region of Brittany. *Thinks of Cacofonix singing "Armorica The Beautiful"* Yes you're definitely right.
