I'd like to add that paratroops cannot take defended areas when dropped. So the invasion of Crete can never happen.
The reintegration of Alsace-Lorraine is coming for both nazi and imperial Germany, in latest stream you can see they added focuses for it aswell as Operation Tennenbaum.
Yugoslavia is a mess at the moment, the annexation focuses by Germany are basically the same as annexation of Czechs. I know DoD tried to add some of the stuff like the coup but a lot of stuff at the moment is bugged and not handled properly. On most historical games Britain always declares war on Yugo if they decide to remain neutral (which makes no sense) and worst part is they auto-join Axis even if coup happens which is the main reason why the country got invaded in reality. To finish with borders, Croatia is missing Bosnia if they get spawned during the invasion and Slovenia needs to get properly split between Germany, Italy and Hungary.
When it comes to partisans i hope they will have a bigger role in the future, Yugoslavia was considered to have the most effective ressistance in Europe and if we will talk about missing events, we need Warsaw Uprising.
-Most historical foreign volunteers or soldiers in exile (Czechs, Poles, etc.)
Some of those like Stalin dying are past 1948 so unless there is a DLC to stretch the timeline PI won't be including those. You'll have to mod that in.
- The Poles keeping their remnants of their army in exile and sending forces to the Allies and the USSR.
- King Michael ousting Ion Antonescu and flipping Romania to join the Allies in 1944.
- D-Day landings in Normandy, specifically. The AIlies actually land at Calais in-game, most of the time...which is exactly where the Germans thought (incorrectly) the Allies were going to land in real life.
- The First Indochina War
- The Korean War (devs have hinted they might look into that)
- Italy going into civil war around 1943, or post-capitulation.
- Operation Market Garden (probably for the best)
- Massive month-long battle at Shanghai in 1937
- The Battle of Taierzhuang, or the first successful Chinese encirclement and their first actual victory.
- Invasion of the Philippines, Hong Kong, Singapore and Burma by Japan. Prior to Oak, the Japanese kept on invading Australia and succeeding.
- Warsaw Uprising
- The Soviets deploying the T-34 tank. They should really stop making BT-5s to go fight all the Panzer IIIs.
- There is no giant naval battle on the coast of Hawaii. Nor does the IJN even get to Hawaii in-game, at all.
- The USA sending aid to China after 1941.
- Stalin doing the world a favor and dying in 1953, then being replaced by Khrushchev after a few years of Politburo infighting.
- The KMT retreating to Taiwan after losing the civil war.

If the Continuation War is a rare beast, the Lapland War is an extinct species. I.
The closest you could get would probably be a month-long amphibious attack by Japanese forces on Shanghai, however you'll never see the kind of disproportionate casualties that occurred historically. Historically, of course, the Japanese were there already and the battle began with a Chinese assault on their positions.
- Massive month-long battle at Shanghai in 1937
Debatable whether it was either of those things. The Japanese claim (not entirely convincingly) that they only retreated due to a communications mix-up. Of course, the Chinese ended up losing Xuzhou and Wuhan after that. More to the point you definitely can defeat a Japanese invasion as the ROC with battles in-land so I'm not sure you won't see anything like this in-game.
- The Battle of Taierzhuang, or the first successful Chinese encirclement and their first actual victory.

Finland is a tricky one. I have no idea how you could simulate the USSR doing so utterly shite in the Winter War as a player. Half the time the event triggers and its not even in Winter anyway. Likewise for the continuation war. Its just so easy to just stomp Finland. I find it harder fighting in Romania as USSR than Finland. The Purge Mechanic should basically make it extremely difficult to wage any offensive wars until 1941, in an historic game against the AI that should only cover Finland. Org should be maybe max 25% and maybe it gives you negative Army exp points to simulate the refusal of Soviet High command to update tactics/division structure so you are stuck with the same templates you start with until the Winter War finishes.
As per the continuation war I dont really know, maybe there should be an event for Finland to get the Mannerhem line to fort level 10.
Replace "Eisenhower" with "the AI" here:
- D-Day landings in Normandy, specifically. The AIlies actually land at Calais in-game, most of the time...which is exactly where the Germans thought (incorrectly) the Allies were going to land in real life.
This is one of the reasons why, before launch, I had said there should be a Victoria 2 style population system or at least something that vaguely resembles it.
This way, countries like the UK or France could raise colonial regiments IN the colonies.
You'd also be able to simulate exiled soldiers better. Instead of just being another division with a slightly different division design, it could be made up of pops from the other country.
I believe the Division designer hadn't been revealed when I first said this would be a good feature so they could easily work the division designer into the pop system. For example; Playing as the UK, maybe you want your mountaineer troops to be mainly made up of your Nepalese or maybe you want your Scottish troops to fill that role. It'd be entirely just for flavour but I'd love that level of roleplay.
I would love that .
But I would be already satisfied if there would be a National Focus for Free France to „core“ their colonies and build units in Africa .
Sure France was not the Big Player in WW2 like in WWI but they should at least do something after the fall of France then nothing. Just seeing them hustling with 3-4 divisions across africa is really sad
In fairness, that's pretty historical.
"What the about the strategic reserve?"
"There is none."
If Finland would get a good Div template and Mannerheim as a FM they would fare much better against the Soviets. The Mannerheim-line wouldn't hurt either, though the forts are less necessary IMO.
Hopefully Finland gets the attention it deserves in the inevitable Nordic DLC.
