There are some definite problems with certain rule combinations you can choose. I've found one combination that really leads to some strangeness.
I've never liked Matri marriages. I don't find them very historical and I wanted to increase the difficulty for myself. I also always found it strange that you couldn't marry outside your religion when there are a ton of interfaith marriages. Especially between Christians and pagans but with Christians and Muslims as well. I thought it would make things more realistic, just for my own perspective.
What I did not count on was the Ibadi Berber Casanova.
Three marriages to landed women. for a random character. This guy must be the most successful commoner ever.
There's much more of course but this is the biggest example of strangeness I've seen. I hope we get a good balance patch that can sort out some of the issues that come with changing the rules. Warscore without shattered retreat is another one.
