While overall I quite like the new expansion, there are a few things that kind of bug me.

#1 The Dutch cant put ships into the western Europe trade zone without fleet basing rights outside their historical territory.

It goes without saying that the dutch were able to effectively trade through that node on their own.

#2 Parent nations cant buy buildings inside their own colony nations.

There are lots of examples of the colonizing nations spending money to improve the infrastructure of defense of their colonies. One notable example is France's funding of forts and fortresses in North America to contain the British. But all the powers spent money in their colonies to various degrees.

3# Parent nations should be able to assume control of colonial forces during wartime.

Typically during periods of war, colonial troops would serve under the authority of regular troops and officers from Europe. How much this happend is less important than the fact that it did happen.

4# Parent nations cant send missionaries to their colony nations.

I think its pretty obvious that the European powers sent missionaries to their colonies ALOT.

Thanx for your time

1 and 2 are fair, so is 3 to a degree.

As for four, while Spain, Portugal, and France certainly sent missionaries to convert natives, it's not like they were trying to convert their colonists. If we're talking about Protestantism versus Catholicism, much of NA was used as an escape for those who were religious persecuted in their home countries. It doesn't make sense for the British AI to be converting all of its colonies to Protestantism because they're reformed or Catholic.

I think an easy way to address 4 is for non-primary cultured provinces to NOT become part of the colonial state until they are Christianized.

Issue 1 is a definite problem, which would best be fixed by eliminating the WE node altogether and going back to the original game design. Tweaking it won't solve the fundamental problem, which is that adding a single uber-node just constipates the whole trade network and reduces gameplay "choice" to a question of how many ships to spam to a singe point in the middle of the ocean.
