Manna - too abstract and way too important for EVERYTHING. Bad ruler and you're pretty much toast. I'd much rather see money invested into infrastructure for development upgrades and tech research to gain tech advancements. Where is population? BIG WHIFF

Stab - just click and use manna (dumb), would be better if a portion of funding and administrative capacity would slowly increase stab over time. War Exhaustion would decrease it over time. Use some common sense here.

Events - they should always give options and not be one sided such as "comet sighted" lose a stab no matter what. Why? because screw the player.

RNG - OMG can we have some skill and certainty at work in the game. RNG goes hand and hand with the manna stupidity, stab stupidity, events that screw you stupidity. Just WAY TOO much RNG for everything to be any fun.

Can't give my provinces to vassals while at war - WTF is this all about??? oh wait, I'm the master over this other lordship but a private transaction between us cannot happen because we are in a war for our alley on the other side of the world. DUMB DUMB DUMB!

Disease Outbreak - this is by far the MOST RIDICULOUS STUPID IDIOTIC BRAINLESS DUMB MORONIC IMBECILIC ASININE part of the game. Why on earth would a group of people outside in fresh air get disease while the jerks huddled up in a dark dang close quarters castle not get disease??? Also, this time era the sieging army would catapult in rotten carcasses to spread disease within the castle. Somehow PDX got this one completely bassackwards. Also, more RNG involved here. Just eliminate this.

AI speed siege castles - Too many times I've gone over 70% to take a castle, meanwhile the AI takes my castle regularly on 7%. Something is fishy PDX. and don't give me the BS excuse of "Confirmation Bias". That is the biggest load to dog excrement ever presented on this forum.

I'm sure there are many other issues but this is short list off the top of my head. I'm done with EU4 and hope EU5 goes in a completely different direction. Not to be a total ass-hat, the game is pretty freakin' awesome but has some glaring shortcomings that if addressed would make this a spectacular game. Now it's time for the fanboys to tell me how stupid I am.

RNG is a useful counterbalance to the fact that we know exactly what happened in history and the mistakes people made along the way.

Also it guarantees that no campaign is exactly the same

You can plan ahead for this. If you know you're going to give them land but plan on also going to war, put your subject on scutage. You can grant land to any subject on scutage at any time, as the restriction on granting provinces is only whether the subject is at peace or not.

As for much of your other complaints, we're talking about a 7 year old game. I sincerely doubt they will ditch the mana system at this point.

That is a good point to have RNG in some areas. My complaint is that RNG is pervasive in all (or way too many) aspects of the game.

That is just overly tedious for something that has no business being in the game in the first place.

That was often the case in history and is still quite true to this day. If an idiot takes complete power you end up with many bad things being set in motion by it and can take a while to fix after. Population isn't needed.

Stab - just click and use manna (dumb), would be better if a portion of funding and administrative capacity would slowly increase stab over time. War Exhaustion would decrease it over time. Use some common sense here.
Yeah stability has become an out dated system but it's been there from the game start and too much that should impact it is part of DLCs. It should be made up of a range of elements within the nation, maybe colonies and maybe vassals as well.

Castles aren't that dark and just being dark doesn't increase the chance of disease. It was common place for the besieged army to suffer from disease. People are living in a field with little in the way of protection, generally no access to fresh water, to baths, to basic sanitation and often eating with their hands. Castles were built with quite high living standards. Castles also would throw rotting corpses out at the besiegers, who also often had their animals living alongside them.

Complaining about RNG being too prevalent implies a clear lack of ability and understanding of the game. We can already offset a good 90% of the crap RNG throws at us.

The game already allows us far more control than even a king would have over a nation of this time period. We become far bigger and stronger than historically and we control far too much, to be honest.

If you want us to believe the AI is cheating on siege rolls, provide evidence.

Document every dice roll of every siege the AI conducts against you, and present your data.

If you've got a couple of thousand rolls, we'll listen.

I don't even like EU4's siege system; I just get really annoyed by people claiming the AI is cheating on its dice rolls but refusing to present a statistically significant sample. I've won sieges at 7% progress; I've had my fortresses stay unoccupied at 70% AI progress. Likewise, I've won battles I should have lost, because I jackpotted the combat dice (I rolled 9, AI rolled 0) on the first two phases, as well as losing battles I should have won because the AI jackpotted the combat dice the same way.

One thing that I've encountered in my study of politics is that humans are not good at understanding statistics. Things with a 71% chance of happening usually get rounded up to 100%. Things with a 10% chance of happening get rounded down to zero. This thread is another example of this phenomenon.

This thread is a meme but there is something to be said about siege speed. Beyond Typus reduces each fort's level by half (except the "level 8" forts which are level 5) and it works pretty well. At least I think it works pretty well, but since the AI doesn't actually upgrade forts there's hardly any way to tell...
