Haven't really gotten to play that much yet, but I did notice the 'shy' trait now gives a bonus to learning language schemes.

That's interesting, the opposite was actually described in the patch notes - "Made Spiritual Heads of Faith more likely to accept giving gold." Maybe that is just due to low opinion due to poor cultural acceptance with the head of faith?

For sure they're eager when you're in a holy war. For the rest, I have no idea, opinion is usually on plus.

Q. What coat of arms should we give an independent Estonia?
A. Denmarks

That's basically how it is lol. CK2 in its final version got the Baltic (states) at least somewhat right, at least acceptable, but in CK3... I have no words. Why didn't they simply copy the CK2 Baltic to CK3? Why did they rework it to have it all completely wrong? The provinces and tags are simply outrageous. Also, the names in the Latvian territory for provinces are randomly Latvian or German and probably some not even fitting the time frame. I haven't played for a while, so I don't remember correctly.
I'm still waiting for more content and map fixes.

Tenet Eastern Syncretism finally worth something, previously it did nothing other than add virtue and sin.

Now it make your faith and eastern faiths considered each other astray like you are one of them and even add opinion bonus like other syncretism tenet too.

That seems odd, since learning the spoken part of another language generally requires you to be around other people to speak that language to.

Dualist rework: these faiths consider each other righteous by default and don't have gnostic tenet. Furthermore, some of them got new tenets (mandeans being christian syncretic).
Faith that has gnosticism tenet will also consider all dualist faiths as righteous and vice versa.

I don't think they have one assigned, it's just a randomly generated thing that 'resets' after each patch.

And? Its still a change

There would be a whole lot of things to comment on each and every patch if we had to discuss every checksum-related randomization for each patch. But I think there is one random change that is worth pointing out - Harald Fairhair is no longer gay this patch, so he's less likely to fail to generate enough children for his dynasty to endure.

On the subject of checksum-based randomization, can we agree that it's a bit ridiculous to randomize all these things on a once per patch basis? If something should be different from game to game, shouldn't it be randomized each time you start a new campaign? Why was there an era of Gay Harald followed by the present era of Straight Harald, and not just a certain chance for him to be gay each game?

I agree x4077. I guess the logic is that your ruler is using books to learn another language, and shy people are supposed to like books? It's probably not about logic though and more about making shyness less of a horrible trait.

To be fair, if a learn language scheme is successful you have the option to write a letter in that language, and having the shy trait increases stress and the chance of failure for this option.

* Punish Criminal interactions no longer appear on characters outside your realm.
* Norse helms now more accurately resemble the anglo-saxon helm found in a burial at Sutton Hoo (minus the moustache)
* There are now fewer characters with 4* education traits at the start of the game.

EDIT:
* Punish Criminal interactions now - if successful - execute instead of imprison the target.
* Prestige is now properly deducted when calling allies into war.
* Vikings are now uglier and have dreadful clothes (Might be due to me currently being below King level and therefore being unfashionable)*
* Send gift is now MUCH cheaper
