I think push ups and other effects makes the game more attractive than doing nothing. I think they could add some animations for armored division like firing training and this training system should be at air and naval forces so it makes the games more live and we feel it is a real army training for grand battle at all fronts

Everything from lack of counters, separate map modes, day and night cycle visible on the main map to the major things like retarded primitive tech tree, lack of proper OdB, lack of control of Armies etc.

Game will have separate mapmodes - just not as many as HoI3.

Day/night cycle wont be visible at highets speed.

You will have complete control over armies and it will be up to you, how much will you use battleplans + if you want, you will be able to remove penatly for manual orders.

Honestly, there are some things that make me very disappointed. I have high expectations and the reason is because HoI III was my first game and I love alternate history; I expect HoI IV to be even more complex and to have even more choices/flexibility than HoI IV.

Internal Politics:
I wanted an even more complex and better internal politics, which from what I know, it is instead really dumbed down(It has only 3 parties instead of like, 10 that HoI III has and almost no internal interaction). I expected for internal politics to be important and you have some influence, unlike in HoI III where you could only choose from worse to better policies and change ministers.
National focus:
It seems good as a guideline and as goals and as a reward to fulfill those goals but if it limits in any way on what you can do, I hate it. One of the charms of HoI III is that you could do anything you want: You could invade Italy and befriend the USSR, or somehow via coup make US more leaned to fascism, etc.
Diplomacy:
I forgot if there was anything on the matter, but I expect a very expanded diplomacy system. (such as giving provinces to allies, peace conferences, giving troops)
Armies:
The removal of counters. The removal of counters is the strongest of them all, because it gives a special feeling to HoI III and immersion as an general looking over a map. Sprites seems extremely clunky in a game such as this (I can only imagine what a hell it would be to manage Barbarossa) and I'm not too big of a fan on how the armies merge or whatever happens with how armies act on the map. In short, just rework it so it doesn't use sprites.
Map:
The map looks horrible. I know you tried to improve and for it to be universal, but it looks horrible. It's just better to improve the mehanisms of maps from HoI III and just add improved types of the map.
Technology:
It's too simple and it's pretty obvious why that's bad and why it needs to be changed.

Hopefully you guys will see this and improve on these areas I've mentioned because I have faith in Paradox and I can wait another year if I have to if it will improve the game on these areas. These are just my feelings lately toward the game.

I disagree - HoI4 is major improvement over HoI3 map (except missing province names), because it provides much more important information in a user friendly package.

I too expected that. Going the other way around seems strange.

Totally agree. The sprites looks so silly I tear my hair out. Looks like children toys. Kills all immersion. The "new counters" beneath the units also has no immersion to it.

Not a big fan myself of the screens we have seen - it looks futuristic and strange. But there will be other mapmodes I am sure and I will play the political mapmode (hopefully flat/top-down anyhow and just switch between them when needed.

All in all, I can relate to your post. It seems (so far) they have simplified much of the game a bit too much. The "Perfect" game would be a combination of Gary Grigsby's wargames and HOI - I like the real time aspect most in HOI. I like some other things very well though, but so far it's about 50/50 like/unlike.

I wonder why there is so much complains about a game which has not even yet reached beta. Nobody really knows how things will play out and even then, things can still be changed. The only thing I agree upon already is the missing counters, as I thought that this particular view really did give the game the grand strategy feeling. Dunno how that'll feel with sprites only and I got a bad feeling about this since there were so many DLCs with just sprites. Never bought one of those and now it somehow feels like I'm forced to use them even though I would rather not.
