Since we can´t get rid of the 3d models without modding the game I really hope that I am allowed to at least disable all army related animations (training, combat, etc.) .
I don't mind it, think it's a good way to note which units are doing what at a glance.

Alright then . . . I can see not liking the changes in the game, but flat out boycotting PDS because of it . . .This is a line in the sand. Either Paradox goes with the people who agree with all that is right, true, holy and immersive or they go with the forces of darkness who are ruining all games everywhere (especially tic tac toe!). I think it's obvious to everyone which side is which. Everyone important anyway.
If Paradox doesn't do my preferred course I am boycotting all Paradox games.

Unless that is a joke, I think you're taking it way too far.
So much bitching it´s unbelieavable.
Also known as Capitalism? I'm not sure what you want, Paradox to avoid improving their sales?
This is irrelevant anyway, as I don't see how some sprite-based humour is "chasing sales".
I'm afraid this kind of thing just seems symptomatic of the malaise affecting the entire gaming industry. Everybody is looking to broaden appeal to chase sales. "If we do x maybe we will gets some more of the Total War players or if we do y maybe we will get some more of the Command and Conquer players". Companies do this rather than focusing on the unique selling points of their games and making them as good as possible in those areas. Are animated soldiers doing jumping jacks ridiculous in a 'serious' war game, of course they are, is Paradox actually trying to make a serious war game... now that is the interesting question.
Not sure about it, to be honest, doesn't look that "serious" to me, and this is a WWII game. I agree that some "gallows humour" is a good thing, but don't go overboard and make the game silly, please.
I'd much rather have soldiers drilling (if that's what you call it in English) than push-ups to represent training, to be honest.
You obviously don´t know how to criticize games, therefore you shouldn´t?
Because I can´t stand the 3d models and find the animations quite annoying too.Why you would want to disable combat animations is beyond me, but I would also like a similar option.
Well its part of a theme... but I don't really blame Paradox its easy to understand the temptation, but ultimately I think its self defeating as they leave them selves open to competitors who do more focused games stealing there main customer base. Admittedly the competition isn't really there at the moment but who says that will continue. Look at CD Project Red and Bioware.

It´s better to see the sprite than click every division to see it´s training and as I said there will be plenty of time to add counters.
Just like we have to do when we need to know when the counters are fighting, moving, etc., etc. etc. in HOI IIIIt´s better to see the sprite than click every division to see it´s training and as I said there will be plenty of time to add counters.
I find sandman2575's point pretty interesting and easily understandable. He/she is wrong, but that is not the point.
