I think they had to stop the stream because Sidestrafe was almost to the part of the game with chemtrails

Definitely the chem trails or maybe his next mission was to land at Tranquility Base and see that there was nothing there.

Sidestrafe had downtime during his streams? I was under the impression he was taking bathroom breaks during the stream and we should be thankful he doesnt stream from the bathroom to minimize downtime further.

In all seriousness he basically was either streaming or sleeping. Im not c ertain they could have gotten his attention to communicatebwith him except during a stream.... because if he wasnt streaming he probably was sleeping.

Wow other people must sleep a lot more than I do. He was streaming 9 to 11 hours a day. If he was sleeping the rest of the time, I think he might need to visit a doctor because sleeping 13 to 15 hours a day is not good.

Keep in mind he has to also eat, deal with real life stuff and he was also doing other things related to his streaming. Once you figure in lets say 7 hours to sleep and another 2 to eat and do basic things like shower he was already committed to something for 18 to 20 hours a day. Plus for all we know he put his phone on silence while streaming and they had been calling him for a day already

Here's the thing, you were in his stream chat, you posted actively so you already know the answer to this.
But for everyone else, I did not have a way of contacting him outside of Twitch, as he does not have a contact e-mail connected to his Youtube account. Once we got to talking on Twitch he pointed out that we had each others contacts on Skype which I had forgotten as I hadn't talked to him in a few years. At that point we talked on Skype.
Could I have tried that sooner? Sure, but it's pretty disruptive to the stream and I would have rather avoided it if I could have done so. I didn't have that option.
With all that said, Sidestrafe and me are both good. I've talked to him on Skype after the stream and will contact him again with offers of keys when those are available. This isn't really a big deal, but it's a fair point that we could have shut his stream down a day or two sooner if we really wanted to. I'll try and be quicker if something similar happens again.

Actually, while I was in stream during part of it, I did not see that you didn't have any other contact information for him and didn't know that.

You guys do realize that there didn't need to be any streaming of the game at all. Most games are just released without any preview streaming done. What we've gotten is a rarity. But somehow its some evil act to change up how the streaming is being done?

Ugh, I hate early access games. Often its an excuse for a game to forever remain in early access and makes the game feel like a scam. Besides, Battletech already had a playable beta (two in fact). And they were both streamed.

Man, how much do you want? The game is going to be out in two weeks. I got better things to do then nitpick the state of the early streaming.

There's been a few gems come out of early access (Subnautica, etc)... but also a whole lot of games that never really leave alpha.
