itsZdan's was contacted by Paradox mid-stream because he started his stream too early (another miscommunication I guess). Apparently, the second wave of streams is scheduled for 20th.
I just hate the way Paradox has handled stuff. They could have sent the message during stream downtime. No need to come in like they did in the middle of it. And today's Q&A was abysmal when compared to literally any Q&A done by HBS, but I already wrote a long form post detailing how and why.
I wish it was sooner. On the 20th i have to try and burn through God of War by the 24th.
Buddy, you've cut-n-pasted this exact thing in to at least 3 different threads. Maybe that's a bit excessive. In any case I didn't do it in the middle of a stream, I waited until after he finished a mission. And I couldn't have done it earlier as I had a stream to host.

I dont know why this had to happen as it did but im sure you (pdx) have your reasons. It would be interesting to know exactly what happened to SS, but even more i would like to know what that mean for the other streamers and us viewers?

I think they had to stop the stream because Sidestrafe was almost to the part of the game with chemtrails
I didn't c&p, but regardless of that there are three different threads about it, so I shared my feelings in three threads. It was in the middle of a stream. Maybe you forget what the definition of a stream is?
But maybe you'd be willing to answer this question: Why couldn't you have a nice conversation with him between his stoppage yesterday and before he started today? You had the equivalent of a full working day to do so with the time difference. Even longer if you thought he was pushing it a day or two ago, which would be a reasonable assumption given that it's been known he's been doing 9 hour marathon style streams for a while.
You act like it’s his only job to keep tract of how much people are streaming. I’ve been following the SS thread and I didn’t even realize that he had been streaming for 60+ hours. It’s easily something that he could have been made aware of today.
The witch hunt towards Paradox (who’ve been more than transparent) is getting pretty tiresome.
Given his title at the company and he is the one who shut down the stream? I think it is reasonable to expect him to at least have passing knowledge about what streamers are up to.
And quite frankly this isn't a witch hunt this is specific issues I take with the way paradox has handled specific things.

As someone who works in the industry I can tell you someone at Paradox is ashamed, embarrassed, and frustrated right now that this happened, and if there's anything they could wish for it'd be that they had realized during stream downtime instead of creating this PR issue.
I don't think there's any need to turn the screws on anybody further in the hopes that we can "wake up" someone asleep at the wheel - everyone loves this game and is stoked for it to come out, and I promise whoever didn't notice the streams were going long is already thoroughly chastened.

A bit of blowback just has to be expected from this turn of events. People are going to be grumpy and overcritical. I just caught myself reading Ckoor's post with his words in my head sounding like a voice aggressively shouting "Hey BUDDY!..." even though in retrospect it was probably intended as a softer "Come now, friend..."

And I as a forum goer who follows the most read threads here knew that SS was streaming a lot, but did not know he was streaming as much as he did. It’s entirely reasonable someone who has much more to do than just follow a particular streamer does not know exactly what one of his influencers is doing at all times.
The fact is, you’re making assumptions about what you think his job is, what he ought to know, and what he ought to be doing. And you’re making these assumptions to advance your argument that Paradox did something wrong, or wronged a particular person who is streaming only with Paradoxes blessing.
Sidestrafe had downtime during his streams? I was under the impression he was taking bathroom breaks during the stream and we should be thankful he doesnt stream from the bathroom to minimize downtime further.
In all seriousness he basically was either streaming or sleeping. Im not c ertain they could have gotten his attention to communicatebwith him except during a stream.... because if he wasnt streaming he probably was sleeping.

It's all been posted, both in his stream chat and in the forum thread about his stream.
Here's the thing, you were in his stream chat, you posted actively so you already know the answer to this.
But for everyone else, I did not have a way of contacting him outside of Twitch, as he does not have a contact e-mail connected to his Youtube account. Once we got to talking on Twitch he pointed out that we had each others contacts on Skype which I had forgotten as I hadn't talked to him in a few years. At that point we talked on Skype.
Could I have tried that sooner? Sure, but it's pretty disruptive to the stream and I would have rather avoided it if I could have done so. I didn't have that option.
With all that said, Sidestrafe and me are both good. I've talked to him on Skype after the stream and will contact him again with offers of keys when those are available. This isn't really a big deal, but it's a fair point that we could have shut his stream down a day or two sooner if we really wanted to. I'll try and be quicker if something similar happens again.
