The province % on the screen still can be wrong because of war goals and CB differences. There should be something in the ledger that does not simply have all the countries listed, but something like a drop down menu where you pick the country, CB, and War Goal (if applicable) and it creates what would be the the peace deal screen if things were 100% occupied. This way you can check other options and AE as well.



And please, please, please, remove building from WS calculation. It gets ridiculous endgame and is just one more thing that makes Europe hard to get into for outside countries. Every coastal province shouldn't be 40+ WS.



Edit: Pippin's solution would be the best in conjunction with the OP if we're going for streamlining.

I like this, as not knowing vassalization/full annexation cost before DoW is the main problem. But why not do both? Having the cost on the province solves the more general problem of "which provinces can I take?"

This could be integrated into a war planner style thing. Essentially the current peace screen with several modifications to make it appropriate for planning. It'd be a little more user friendly I think.

Lord knows I hate any degree of mental maths, I always make mistakes. Probably not a desirable quality in an a level maths student.

I tihnk most people agreeing to the general idea is because it can get absolutely insane at times. Obviously they just want more information in some form. The basic idea of the OP is limited, but it is years ahead of nothing. Something like the quote is better, but I'm sure people can come up with even better ideas.

The simple fact is that we want to know what we can achieve in a war. It's not like that is wrong. People didn't go to war not knowing what the possible outcomes could be (well it is sort of muddy, but in most cases there was a general knowledge of it).

And I think that it would be great, too, if it showed us the releasable vassals.

What would make this even better would be a tooltip coming from it which displays why it costs that much..

These suggestions would be a huge improvement.
