There is a bug in the map where you first build a temple, in the mission "Life and Death"

In the map where you first build a temple and choose Agrela the GOOD one, when the map complete it says I have negotiated a good deal with Krypta priests, the evil one, and the adviser looks like the Emperor from starwars

Indeed if you choose the Good temple then of course the adviser should say I have negotiated a good deal with Agrela priests!!!

If you pick the Krypta temple, you'll get a message from the advisor saying that he's negotiated a deal with the church of Agrela, and vice versa. I think the main point is to say that your choice has no real repercussions in later missions.

The advisor's face is shrouded because (A) the designers wanted to keep the voice of the advisor from the original, but (B) set the sequel several centuries after the original Majesty, (because they didn't want to call it a remake of Majesty, but also didn't want to bothered by consistency with the original game.) At any rate, after several centuries Lord Venn Fairweather should logically be dead. They don't want to say it IS the original advisor, because that's impossible, but they also don't want to say it ISN'T the original advisor, because fans wanted him back, so they hid his face behind the hood. I dunno, maybe it's Undead Venn, or something... As with many aspects of Maj2, it hurts if you think about it too hard.

Interesting perhaps it is by design or a bug, and yes it has no meaning after that mission or during :D

Anyway I still think it is a bug, if you choose someone of course they should be happy with you

After you complete the mission by detroying the opposing lairs after building the temple; "Venn" reconciles with the opposing faction you aligned against for the mission.

The idea being you will be able to use both factions temples in later missions, and not have players panicking they locked themselves out of one of the temple factions for later use in the game.

I still find it amusing and confusing, but its not a mistake its a convoluted story line as Alfryd pointed out in some detail.
