My little sister likes playing this game sometimes, even though she doesn't understand all the finer points she likes marrying off the princesses to handsome princes and naming all the little babies in the royal family and conquering her enemies as they cower in fear behind castle walls and executing rebel scum without remorse. Everything you'd expect from a little girl really.
On her own yesterday she managed to take her Countess of Dublin and unify Ireland, but then, upon succession, was bogged down in a vicious civil war (every duke under her declared for another claimant to the throne), and begged me to help her win - so I did, and afterwards just looked around the map out of interest to see what the state of the world was. France really interested me - the Duchy of Normandy had gone completely independent and swallowed up Britanny, and was bordering an overgrown independent Duchy of Acquitaine to on its southern border (i checked; neither of these countries were at war, so they were FULLY independent). But that wasn't the strangest thing. France itself was ruled by a King-Bishop, creating the Theocracy of France. I've known it was possible but I've NEVER seen it before...I wanted to ask, does anyone know how such a thing is possible? How can a Bishop acquire a crown without being granted one by an emperor?
