So, this is going to be a bit different than most of the AARs you'll see in this forum. I apologize for that, I just didn't find that it fit anywhere else.
What I am planning for this to be is for me to do as many observer games as I find reasonable to do, and post the 1821 maps and statistics here. Maybe I'll stop at 30. Maybe I'll stop at 50. I may do more than that. Who knows?
What I do know is that I want a sufficient sample such as we can start seeing patterns in how the AI acts and how the game plays. Also, if I decide to keep doing this for long enough, how the AI and patterns change with each new DLC and patch. I've seen from quite a few threads how people generalize and say that such and such country is too strong, or how a certain historical event never seems to happen in game. This thread is meant to put some numbers to that, even if the thread stops short of being truly statistical.
I will say this much, I have had about 15 observer games already run from my computer, so I can at least post those. I hope to do more, but we'll see how productive in this I end up being. It doesn't take super long for an observer game to run on my computer, so the use of my computer isn't really going to be the issue here.
I will ask that others do not post their own observer games in this thread, as I want to ensure as many variables can be controlled as possible. Feel free though to comment and criticize as needed.
My current plan is to post about 15 screenshots per game, as below:
Europe - Political
North America - Political
Central America - Political
South America - Political
North Africa - Political
South Africa - Political
Asia - Political
East Asia - Poltical
South Asia - Political
Indonesia and Oceania - Political
Europe - Religious
World - Religious
Great Power List
Country List, Sorted by Income
Military List, Sorted by Army Size
If you believe that others are needed to get a true scope of what happened during the game, I can certainly do so. That being said, keep in mind the image posting limit, as I would rather not have to post more than once per game.
To end off on another note, I'm not really sure why I chose to name it the Xenophon project. I know he was studying the Spartan way of life for awhile, similar to how I'm studying the strange and unknowable EU4 AI, but this connection is really not all that strong, but the name stuck. It is what it is.
