The Italian front, Dcember 20,1915 to January 3,1916
If the Ottomans are the “forgotten front”, then I would have to name Italy as the “front of Frustration.”
On December 24th we have three battles taking place. There is fighting again at Bergamo, while two new battles have started at Bozen in the Alps, and Zell am See, both former Austrian provinces stolen by Italy. The Kaiser has issued a decree that under no circumstances is Italy to retain control of the stolen provinces.
In Bozen the Germans have a 9 to 1 advantage, but are fighting a dug in division in the mountains with a level 4 fort.
In Zell am See the situation is not as good as the advantage is only 3 to 1
Realizing the volatile nature of the Italian battles, the Imperial staff sent the army guarding Verona to Bergamo, while the army liberating Trento is sent to assist at Bozen, and then move on to Zell am See.
The battle at Bozen seems to be going nowhere.
At Bozen the Germans have lost 12,000 men in two weeks of fighting while the Italians have lost 600
At Zell am See things are worse
Here the Germans have lost 22,000 men to the Italian 1000
And finally there’s Bergamo…
This is just getting to painful to write about

…
Lastly the Italians are trying to liberate Verona, but who cares any more…
