A Death in the Family

vlaanderenmu1.jpg

In Poland most of the Russian incursions have been mopped up, but the German army is still finishing off a few pockets of resistance, once the mop up operations are complete then a new offensive can begin.

dec41915polandvl6.png

The main battle in the Polish sector remains at Krakow where the Russians are providing stiff resistance. Additional reinforcements have been called in and the Germans now have the numerical advantage necessary to wipe out the 12 Russian divisions.

dec51915krakowea1.png

The sector still in question is Östpruessen where the Russians are operating relatively unopposed.

dec51915eastprussiaac8.png

The Imperial Naval Command continues to have success against the British in Danish Straits.

dec61915kattegatlg0.png

In the recent engagements the British lost the dreadnaughts Monarch and Neptune as well as the modern cruiser Glasgow. The Germans mean while damage to the modern cruiser Wiesbaden, as well as to the dreadnaught Kaiserin. Both ships were safely withdrawn from the battle however, and returned to port for repairs.

December 5th of 1915 was a dark day for the navies of the Central Powers as the Swedish monitor Göta was finally sunk…

Oh yea, and…

dec41915tirpitzdiesar0.png

The situation in Austria is still very confusing to say the least.

dec51915austriazj6.png

The Socialist appear to have a slight advantage over the other two groups, but the situation is still very murky to say the least. German speaking Austria appears to be split between the Socialist and the Republicans with neither side showing much superiority, but the have pushed the Monarchist out of the region. Slovakia meanwhile has seen the Republicans pushed out, and the territory split between the Socialist and the Monarchist. It is unknown how many troops the Monarchist have in the region, but it appears the Socialist are trying to take complete control of Slovakia in order to consolidate their gains, and then turn south. Croatia, like Slovakia is split between the Monarchist and the Socialist, but this time the Monarchist appear to have the upperhand.

And lastly I’ll leave this little tidbit of useless information.

I do like the fact there is this huge battle raging in Krakow, but just a few tens of miles away they have a far more important civil war to fight.

Feedback

This has been a frustrating stretch for me with my work computer still down, but hopefully we are near the end, and resume regular updates. In the mean time this would be a good time to get caught up on some feedback.

IIRC I thought Fokker was a German manufacturer who fled to Holland after WW1, or are these two different Fokkers?

Yourworstnightm
If the Socialist win, then there can only be one response from an absolute monarchy…

Miltiades
Thanks for your compliment (now go vote for me in the AARland Choice Awards)

Once again your analysis is correct. I only wish I had some tanks in order to follow your strategy (I wonder what Rommel’s doing right now)

Thanks for the nomination, I’m was truly touched

Glad to have you aboard, I always meant to thank you for your support during My first AAR, A Funny Thing Happened on the way to Saint Petersburg. Oh and by the way, I like your new avatar

As for your suggestion about the Hapsburg Kaiser being killed, I seriously considered that as pretext for starting the civil war, but decided against it. It is still a possibility if the Monarchist lose that he could be captured and put on trail. A truly talented writer could have a field day writing about that. Another thought that has crossed my mind is the health of the Kaiser. He’s been forced out of his palace in Vienna and living with his troops (sort of). Seeing how he’s 100 years old, you have to wonder how well he would handle this.

Thanks for reading. Anyone who will sit through 35 pages has either no life, or is really enjoying this AAR (I’ll assume it’s the latter). As for the K.U.K. well, It’s their fault I’m in this stupid war, oh wait I mean it’s Serbia, oh wait I mean it’s the French fault, oh I’m getting confused. I don’t care who started this war, I’m gonna finish it.

Welcome again to the Forums and in particular to AARland

Welcome to the Forums. I’ll try to find some pics dealing with the economy, but I don’t think I have any. I’m not sure exactly what you are referring to in your post dealing with a file uploading. Are you trying to post a picture or something else.

Welcome to the Great War. As for my economy, I can tell you that my reputation is built upon deficit spending, and this AAR is holding true to form (I can always make the allies pay war indemnities)

I have no naval pic for you this time, but thanks for your reading and posting (any plans on continuing your two AAR’s)

It would be safe to say the Russians have lost. So let us turn our attention somewhere where the outcome isn't so clear...

Cuba and Tibet.

I have long been suspicious of these two countries. Tibet, just sitting in its own little corner of the world. Thinking that just because it's physically higher up than us it's actually better. As with the Cubans, who are constantly laughing at the rest of the Carribean just because they're bigger.

You've been dealing with the wrong problem this whole time. While you and the other "Great Powers" keep wearing each other out, these two are going to team up and sweep the world! It's all making sense now! There isn't must time! This information must reach the grand German counc... *is stabbed in the back by a dark figure*

no there is only 1 fokker i checked it ( he had german ancestery though) Anthony was however a born dutchman as far as my sources tell me :)

Fokker was a a dutch aircraft manufacturer in WWI for germany, and the same fokker familiy produced fokkers for the Netherlands and Belgium in the before WW2

today Fokker still produces civilian aircrafts ( twin engine propellors) mainly for short to medium travel

What role do the Hungarians play in the whole Hapsburgh mess, as the Kasier was their King as well if I remember correctly, and they seem to have emerged rebel free and with enough troops to splash around. Are they a part of the Central Powers?

Actually it won't affect me at all, because I had forgotten about him. I originally placed him in command of the far east squadron at the start of the game because I thought that squadron had would see some early action, but then I sailed the squadron to port, and forgot them there. I only remembered them when I got the message about von Tirpitz :eek:o

The Hungarians are a German satalite, and a member of the Central Powers. So far it lloks like all they've done was reorganize their troop deployments, but it appears they are preparing for a push into the Balkans. (it would be nice to have an ally that actually does something) :D
