Interresting, the war in England seems to be turning the right way, soon the english will be liberated from the chains of parliamentary democracy. However how are things looking in Russia? Have the white assault begun? Are the mensheviks making a comeback? Will Ukraine annex everything? Are the turks losing even more badly (if possible?)??

OT but what about Henry VII or William of Orange?
William of Orange didn't invade, he was asked to enter the country. :) William the Bastard was the last man to invade the British isles. He got the by far nicer sounding nom-de-guerre of "the Conqueror" for that achievement. Oh yes, and the Crown of England.

Henry VII technically didn't invade, as his "headquarter" was already on the island.

Technicalities, and I'm sure I got at least two of those wrong. I'm not a history buff, so don't quote me!

Never the less, both landed on English/Welsh soil with foreign armies and beat up the then current king. [/OFFTOPIC]

And may I ask what is the amount of debt the German state has fallen in? Just out of curiosity, of course there will be none after a few years of strict bugdet policies and war indemnities from the Lesser British Imperium. :p

I always considered those more internal (despite their sometimes extensive foreign support) Henry was deposing his cousin, William his Uncle with the same man's daughter at his side.
This isn't a that kind of dispute. It's a conquest by a foreign power. Certainly more earth-shattering than the glorious revolution.

This is a Quirinus AAR we're talking about. If memory serves, I'd be surprised if he hasn't mortgaged the Brandenburg Gate by now...

Well the readAARs of this one are indeed very patient. Its been seven days with no new posts. I guess they are used to it now.
(wait, i'm i not one of them now? shouldn't i be too? i'm scared! oh well! still someone's got to try)
We want news from the eastern front.
(there: simple and clear)
Is it Ukraine or the Bolsheviks? Or they partitioned Russia? What about the Royalists?Did the Mensheviks die or they carried through?
(that was the long version)

PS. I believe i should try these 'monetary strategies' usually i care so much to stay on the green, that the AI beats me hands down. Maybe a 'little' debt never harms anyone (anyone?).

Anyways, still thanks for the nice AAR here.

Nope

Let us continue spamming and keep this AAR on the first page of the AAR list until the day the update arrives. It shall not end at this point. Update! The story deserves it! We deserve it! You deserve it, Quirinus!

Just in case you've missed it, things have been pretty hectic for me lately at work. Since December 16th I have had a staff turnover somewhere around 400%. It's been rough to say the least.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know, an update is coming in the next couple of hours, and here's the proof...

ok, it's not really proof, but it does show I'm thinking about WW1

breakout from Salisbury

Back to the AAR…
Following the overwhelming German victory at 2nd Salisbury, the Imperial staff ordered the German army to regroup and then advance in all directions in the hope of capitalizing on the Allies disorganization.

thesituationaug181918uj9.png

In a nutshell the offensive goes like this…
27 divisions to Taunton
18 divisions to Bristol
17 divisions to Reading
13 divisions to Southampton
Oh, and we’re also landing another 18 divisions on the undefended North Sea coastline.

Four battles are anticipated in this new offensive with Southampton getting the glory of starting first.

southhamptonaug201918cn3.png

The German cavalry actually arrived before the British allowing the Germans to take the defensive side (which has worked well for them in the past). By the time the rest of the German forces arrive, the Germans have a 2 to 1 advantage in manpower, and the benefit of being on the defensive. For some reason however the losses are not as lopsided as one might expect.

The other three battles all start the next day. At Reading, our old friend von Heeringen finally makes his return to field command.

readingaug211918vu9.png

British casualties are over 18,000 while the Germans lost only 570 men. Von Heeringen’s legend continues to grow, but in fairness it should be noted he started with a 6 to 1 numerical advantage.

Next comes the third battle of Taunton

tauntonaug211918pc6.png

Again the German numerical advantage proved decisive which would explain why the Allies lost 4 times as many men.

Lastly was the battle of Bristol which contained the strongest Allied force of the four battles (although the Germans still enjoyed a 2 to 1 advantage).

bristolaug211918km1.png

The updated ledger was quite telling. Allied losses are not as high as their other battles, but that is more a reflection of the fact they simply have less men than before. It is in fact the beginning of the end for the Allies…

aug241918ledgerxy4.png

And so we close this update with a look at the map of Southern Britain.

aug241918closingsituatixw4.png

The Germans have landed on the east coast and are beginning to occupy the provinces of Canterbury and Ipswich. Meanwhile they are fighting and winning 4 battles in their breakout from Salisbury. Once these battles are completed they will have a total of 48 divisions surrounding London which is only defended at present by 4 undermanned divisions.

Oh, and we’re bringing in another 18 divisions from France…
