The land doctrines don't give morale. Only two land doctrines give +10% morale or something like that, but the second one doesn't come until like 1946 for Germany. The USSR has a little bit more morale, but nothing like the differences seen in vanilla or other mods.

Max German morale is something like 80% by 1938. Max Soviet morale is something like 140% by 1942.

In the Platinum, both the USSR and Germany are working with 40% morale for land units.

Other units have the same morale they normally would.

Is this WAD or was morale accidentally left out of the new land doctrines?

Well I might suggest a little more balance.

The Soviet Army in 1941 is easily 2.5x as large as my German army and the lack of morale means my offensives stall hard, while they can constantly rotate fresh troops in and out of the battle to keep it going for 2 months in a single province..

"fading sun" an interesting concept. I should take a look at that event line.

I'm glad to read that the winter modifiers issue is altered in Platinum. I have very hard times in 1942 too, when americans were making one landing after another. I had beated they successfuly each time in summer, when France frozed, even a few US units was almost insoluble problem. :(

The concept with altered (or lets say lowered) morale sounds interesting. IIRC the speed at which units regain org is based (outside morale itself) on max org: Units with greather max org regains it faster, is it right? So if morale of (for example) SOV and GER doctrines would be the same, germans will not only have greater max org, but will even regain org faster, yes? This kind of changes could bring serious problems during testing and balancing, i think.
Hmm, im looking forward to Platinum, curious about what the doctrines will be in it, but i like the general idea of tuning down morale, to slow down the advance. Let's hope that it will be not as difficult for you to balance it, as i'm affraid. ;)

PS: And don't forget to balance it even with air-ground interactions> if you decrease morale of land units and don't change morale of bombers, it can make them even more overpowered, can't it?

-Does your AI work with a normal HOI 2 DD A game (It should but im asking anyway)?

If I may interject. Regarding peacetime penalty... replacing it with a negative "tech" IC efficiency penalty will remove any benefits of phony wars.

IC efficiency penalties can only be removed via techs or events.

aw man the COOOLEST thing happened to me JUST now!! Well i am having my BEST game yet as Germans playing WiF!!! I have 147 Inf Units ready for barbarossa along with 25 tanks and 20 motorized and other supporting units. Lots of planes, and the historically accurate number of important naval ships.. Anyway ive been playing pretty historically, sent Erwin Rommel to Africa in Feb with 2 arm divisions and 2 motor divisions along with HQ DeuschtAfrika sp?. Got beating back to Benghazi and my Italian allies were in terrible, terrible shape, lost 11 divisions in Mesa Mertsa and 13 in Tobruk, i couldnt save them, damn Brits have so many damn units there. Anyway just as hope was fading JUne 1941 came and ALL of a sudden like 20 divisions of Italian inf, motorized, and armored units came from tripoli and beat back the brit encirclement of Benghazi!!! I helped with air support and superiority! Aw MAN it was great!!! New hope for Afrika and Rommel!!! Soon ill have reinforcements in August and i might actually get something done down there!!

I wanted to ask was that a triggered event? More italian troops?? Cuzz i KNO they werent sitting in the mainland, and they just kinda appeared..
Another Question... is there ANY way to coordinate attacks with these newly formed units? If i can just get ahold of these units or even coordinate with them, we can At LEAST push Brits back to pre-war borders. I have air superiority and i kno i can do it!!!

IronHead - They are given by events when Lybia is about to fall in order to make african campaign last longer. But they have been removed for Platinum Edition.

Belvagox - I can't tell exactly, but perhaps something like 2 weeks. It's all up to the beta testing process speed.

Right now im Playing as Sweden. I conquered whole scandinavia and now im watching how Germany is destroying the USSR. It's now 1942 okt and some "strange" things happend:

First Germany did create Ukraine (is that an event?) Because ive never seen the AI create a puppet before (without the help of events)

Second Turkey declared war to USA. Then i looked at usa closer and noticed that they are not in allies anymore and they have a belligerence of more then 450 !!!!

How is that possible? Or is just normal.

btw in peacetime i did have alliances with Germany, UK and USA. Did that mess somethings up?

Its been some time I´ve posted here, so first:

Glad to see this mod being reanimated. Despite T-H.E. seemed an interesting project I always felt, that Wif is the best "main-theme-Hoi2-mod and therefore was really sorry for Fernandos decision abondoning it.
So some cheers for him and the team - good luck!
I´ll look up some of my old screens I took for a never published aar - there where some slight probs I noticed. Maybe this could be useful for you.

Now an actual personal prob - hope someone can help with it.

I´m playing something like my own wif-creation. Some minor changes on balance (mainly some more locked garrisons for AI), some events slightly changed and more important: Wif 1.0 for doomsday with edited gold-edition wich is normally only for armageddon.
This is mainly about using only some parts and editing those techs and units using the aditional brigades.
I was pleased with what came out. Game works fine - no crashes - game-experience is as pleasing/frustrating ;) as always in Wif (example when those overblown stacks of 8 french fighters face your tiny interceptor-groups who are not in poland in 1939).
But in Poland there seems to be a prob I cannot understand nor find any solution by try and error.

My HQs wont "work". They give no command-boni, and thats really anoying if your generals are limited to their normal command-limit.
Well I´ve beaten poland anyway by 19. sept. but the french will be hard that way, soviets impossible.
So can someone guess whats hapened. What I have possibly messed up with editing? I always believed those HQ-features to be hardcoded?

Thanks in advance if you try to help - This also because I wont be online again before Saturday evening middle european time and might not be able to react to some helpful posting.

Has someone tried to play a campaign as Poland? I believe you can put up a pretty decent fight against the Germans and see 1940. I've already done that in vanilla (although I got swept in march 1940 :rofl: ) and I'm trying it now in WiF. Maybe I'll post some screenshots later. It's 26th september now and I've stalemated them around Cracow. I'm even counterattacking them, first at Toruñ and now I'm trying to retake Lodz :)
