Great idea! Tommy, what are the chances of a brutal and violent crackdown on Communism in Scotland and England?
 
And the catalyst for such excessive violence, such primal release of wrath, would be...? The government has, admittedly in milder forms, ceded a lot to the working class, enacting a number of reforms for their benefit. I... find it difficult to believe that, after so many years of Lib-Lab governments, there would be much of a radical, militant arm of Communism agitating for revolution right now.

Dealing with Communists is like dealing with an outbreak of rabies. Quarantine the area, destroy infected samples than continue on with life. There is no other way to deal with such lower tier beings.
 
I'm disgusted.

The Liberals and the Socialists have destroyed our overseas Empire, they have allowed Communism and Nationalism to run rampant at home, and the very delineation of our country, the Navy, has been scrapped by these traitors.

And even worse, a moderated Conservative Party!? I demand a general Conservative primary, so the people may show their unmoved loyalty to our traditional beliefs!

Not all of the 22% are radical, militants ready to lay down their lives. Even if they were, that's 78% of the country that is not, along with a relatively modernized army. And, as mentioned, there's next-to-no catalyst to cause some general uprising. You overestimate your strength. Severely.

Also, I... can't imagine someone calling for illegal acts of violence to remain a free man for long, much less continuing to hold a government post. The idea is farcical.

Regardless of one's opinions on Communists, I can't help but agree with at the very least the validity of this statement.

I do wish Grimmond would have compromised a bit more with the Orange Liberals rather than potentially forcing them back into Labor, but not a bad job all around.

I wonder if the Liberal backstabbing will see a return of Harold Wilson given how much the right of the party around Gaitskell and the like had riding on it.
