It does reflect the voters, have a look at the election update conclusion. In Monmoth, Donald Anderson got more votes than any other candidate and won. In East Fife, more voters wanted Sid French to be MP than any other candidate and Sid French won. Can't get more democratic than that! :p

I know! Let's have a referendum on the voting system and promise to abide by the result. That would be much more democratic, wouldn't it? Wait....

Is she? I've never noticed that. I just have great respect for her, and it has nothing to do with me being Polish.

A lot of Poles do. Let me put it this way, Maggie's a lot more popular in Danzig than she is in Darlington. ;)

Parliament isn't meant to represent the people though, that's what the MPs are for. Parliament is where they meet. :)

So why do we vote then? Can't we just let the Queen and the House of Lords appoint the MP's then? Oh, yeah, because the MP's are supposed to represent the population. Thus when the Labour get 20% of the votes, but 30% of the seats, and the Conservatives get 30% of the votes, but 20% lf the seats it doesn't exactly represent the population well. But as I've said ai know it is a lost case. And that it was ironically the Tories who were the catalyst in putting it down, and that it have given more power to the parties that supported its implementation.

And I said in the parliament and you then correct me to say that it is wrongsince they are represented (by MP's) in the Parliament?

You had a referendum, you lost. Deal with it, the people don't care. :)

Actually, I've never found time to watch Yes, Minister. I should do so.

*head explodes*

Yes, yes you should. Do it now, in fact- the sooner this imbalance is corrected the better. :)

Why do you think I have said "it's a lost case" and "we've been over this" and "I see no point in arguing it" then? Because I know the refferendum was put down, but I just made a comment on how ironic or undemocratic this election turned out to be. That you can't argue against.

And they do that. Like I said look at the results, you won't find a single MP getting elected that didn't have the most votes.

They can't appoint whoever they want to now can they? And that may be true, but it still doesn't represent the general votes.

So stop mentioning it then. :)

I mentioned it once. Then you kept quoting me about it, and everyitme I said it was no point in arguing it and it is a lost case.

Might have to switch to Tories, if the LibLab alliance stays intact. :(
In my struggle against socialism, do I need to embrace conservatism... :p

Well if you and other National-Liberals do that, especially with the return of teh conservative voters from the stalinists, you might be able to do so.

Liberals unsatisfied with Antonine's "loony left-wing" leadership defect to the Tories. More news at 11.

Think it is more about them not wanting social democracy :) But again his proposals of incrased state controlled economy are most likely scaring them away.
