One more vote for either the Tories or the National Liberals would give the Rightwing alliance an absolute majority - as it stands, even with the UUP, they would be two seats short!

Haha, well that takes us up to a turnout of 65 (equaling last week's record) and sends the Right into a narrow majority. However, it also sees Thorneycroft's supporters secure 2/3s of the Nat Lib vote - the same proportion that the Bevanites won of the Labour vote in 1949.

Well, I can't say I didn't try to stop it. Guess the next elections will see me vote for Tories for the sole reason that there's no NLP anymore.

I quote from the rules:

"Please place your vote in a separate post or bold it within your post so it is easier for me to keep a tally."

Bonding anyway can be helpful for Tommy when counting, though. Especially when a page seldom includes an actual vote.

I'm bringing the deadline for the closure of this election forward half an hour. Polls will now close at 9:30AM tomorrow UK time.

D: If only CPGB made a wiser choice in coalition partners; perhaps if we retain the empire and distance ourselves from the Muscovites the soon to be alliance-less Conservative party might join us to smash the liberal menace. Join us, Tories, together we can rule the gal... err, the Empire, for Folk and Nation!
((Conservative/CPGB; so wrong it's too right. I fear CPGB might have similar effects on the fortunes of coalition partners as the Pariah Dog has on Chosen One's fortunes though XD))

Why would the communists want that? They are opposed to capitalism and an empire. They want to be in bed with USSR. And why would the consevatives want it? They want to defend Britain against socialism.

Compromise, lady Howard, compromise. We trade reliance on Moscow and anti-imperialism and Conservative trades pro-NATO foreign policy (for a pro-British one) and we meet in the middle at statism in economics and class collaborationism in social policy.

So... Fascism? I'm down with that.
((Of course))

If the world was so easy. But I doubt the Conservatives will go away from opposing socialism, USSR and being pro NATO just to get.. a socialist economy.
