Socialists offer a production line where are forced to wait in queues so that some party member can check if they are still able to serve their party, or if the human-cog in the machine needs to be replaced, so that the greater good is maximized for the party.

Or the Pharmaceutical Industry and universal healthcare again.

NLP promotes limited taxation, as little is to be taxed as possible, only to fill the absolute bare needs that we need to maintain an effective police force and some sort of national defence.

The thing is, the Liberals have to choose a side (assuming the election ended with the result still in the balance). They don't have to join a government - but at worst have to 'tolerate' one (give it critical parliamentary support). I'll have to try and find what the protocol would be in Britain if it is impossible to form any majority whatsoever - would the monarch have the responsibility to appoint a government?

Well judging by what happened in 2010, the Government is still the government until they can no longer command a majority. That was why Brown instead of Cameron got first dibs at creating a coalition, when the 'Rainbow' coalition idea fell through Brown stepped down and the Queen invited Cameron to become PM and in turn he made the alliance with the Liberal Democrats to secure a majority.

And by majority I mean not a solid alliance but simply that government has enough support from other groups during major legislation. The Lib-Lab Pact of the 1970s for instance wasn't a proper coalition like we have now, the Liberals simply promised to support the government in return for some favours (1979 Devolution Referendums etc.) and none of them entered the Cabinet.

No, no, no. Whomever is the largest party would form a minority government and persist in office until they lose a motion of no confidence. Should they lose one, and should no alternate government be found, the only solution would be for parliament to be dissolved and for a second general election to be called as what happened in 1974.

Well my point was even if they get fewer seats than the Alliance, as long as no one gets a majority Labour are first in line to form a government as the incumbent.

The Liberals don't have to choose (unless you've made it mandatory for game purposes). Say they're not happy with Labour but don't like the idea of joining the Alliance, if the Con-Nat Lib group are the biggest group* they will then become a minority government until such time as they call a new election or their position becomes untenable (historically it was usually both).

*once Labour fails to cobble together a coalition.

This basically. How long their position remains tenable naturally depends on the willingness of the smaller parties to support them in regards to confidence and supply. Should the Liberals refuse to offer the minority government confidence and supply, said minority governments position will no longer be tenable.
